rate_ wrote:Lowry/Herro/Jimmy/Jovic/Bam should be the obvious 5 to start the regular season. Caleb swapped for Jovic would also be solid, but he just makes the unit too undersized. Remember Lowry is short even for a PG and Herro/Jimmy have stubby arms for their height. Jovic needs to beef up a bit but he's not that skinny and his length could at least bother some opponents. He's also a solid rebounder (averaged 12.2 rebounds per 36 in preseason).

Thank you for thee great opportunity to post another excellent Brady Hawk dive. I thought Caleb really looked great too! The offense looked versatile, and Martin was excellent on the defensive side.

thinking future seasons here -

Lowry and Duncan are the guys to move, both are expandable and overpaid.

draft picks are the sweetner, we add 2 or 3 and we have the tool the make a trade.

I'm trying to identify who can we target to be our future star PG to put next to the Herro/JimmyJociv/Bam lineup.

Lowry to me looks washed and we need to upgrade as soon as possible.

Who's our next PG?

Gabriel Vincent.

With Bam, Herro and Butler in the lineup, and with Jovic's potential playmaking abilities, we really don't need a dynamite of a pg. Someone who is lengthy, can defend, hit open shots, and create occasional scoring opportunities is probably sufficient, imo. Vincent is a scrappy dude who can probably run with the guys once Lowry is gone. I'd say he's likely the most realistic option.

Of course, once Butler is off of the books (and so are Lowry and Robinson) I'd love to go out and get DFox. :D

We are not winning a championship with 6 foot undrafted PG Gabe Vincent. The talent is just not there.

Ideally, their next PG will be young yet experienced so that the team can still contend with Jimmy right now and still be around for Bam and Herro's continued ascension.

Names like Fox and SGA have been thrown around.

Personally, I'd like the team to try and maximize Jimmy's window and target Kyrie at the deadline or before.

Kyrie isn't young anymore obviously so that derails an immediate young agenda.

But he would be more cost effective to trade for, and bottom line, he's better than those other guys are right now.

With a team like Miami looking so good with our young guys improving I wouldn't mind a Kyrie rental if it means getting rid of Lowry and Duncan's Salary in one shot.

And if the team has success and/or he enjoys being in Mia, the prospect of Kyrie just being a one year rental could very well change.

These are all facts, if we’re being completely honest the Yurt/Bam combo is not the best move for this team.

Lets send them Lowry & Duncan, they are probably going for the Tank a Thon for Wemba.

Wouldn't be surprised if Jimmy and Lowry's gone by the time we get a new PG tho

At this point I would 100% be for this.

Theres a lot in play right now for this season before we can even think about trades.. The one thing to keep in mind is that this is the Miami Heat.. Spoelstra will have these guys competing and winning regular season games that theyre suppose to win..

But lets say our season looks awful before the deadline.. then i think Riley starts to take in phone calls about Lowry, Robinson.. and hell maybe even Butler if he thinks its time to go with rebuilding around Bam, Herro Jovic and our other young stars..

My guess though is that we are a top 3 seed by the deadline, maybe just a little far off from the top 3 like a game or 2 behind.. this team is built to take care of games in the regular season. They just dont have enough to go over the top in the postseason.

Dame just signed an extension this offseason.

There's not many players that I'd prefer more than Dame for Mia.

I just dont see him as a viable option this season.

They just traded for Grant and extended Dame, Simmons, and Nurkic.

By many accounts, they were in on trading for OG Anunoby.

They should be tanking, but by all indications, they have deluded themselves into the idea that they can compete in the west this year.

Come trade deadline if they are at the bottom of the standings, I expect a superstar to want out somewhere. Especially this year with two heavy hitters in the draft coming in.

Grant's contract is up after this season and if things arent going well by the deadline, I could see them moving off of him.

Dame would likely have to request a trade which he seems unwilling to do.

Return to Miami Heat
