A great PG that can really score and defend is by far our biggest need, ASAP.

I've lost all faith in Lowry, he looks washed physically and uninterested and detached mentally. He's not good enough at this point.

about the suggested trade options :

Lilard - totally unattainable, we dont have enough assets and he doesn't want to leave.

Fox - like the player, dont like the fit. he cant shoot 3's, big issue next to bam and jimmy.

What other high caliber PGs are out there?

But lets say our season looks awful before the deadline.. then i think Riley starts to take in phone calls about Lowry, Robinson.. and hell maybe even Butler if he thinks its time to go with rebuilding around Bam, Herro Jovic and our other young stars..

My guess though is that we are a top 3 seed by the deadline, maybe just a little far off from the top 3 like a game or 2 behind.. this team is built to take care of games in the regular season. They just dont have enough to go over the top in the postseason.

That young core is sweet. Prime Butler and a sprinkle of vets is purrrrfect going forward

Lowry and Duncan are the guys to move, both are expandable and overpaid.

draft picks are the sweetner, we add 2 or 3 and we have the tool the make a trade.

I'm trying to identify who can we target to be our future star PG to put next to the Herro/JimmyJociv/Bam lineup.

Lowry to me looks washed and we need to upgrade as soon as possible.

Who's our next PG?

Gabriel Vincent.

With Bam, Herro and Butler in the lineup, and with Jovic's potential playmaking abilities, we really don't need a dynamite of a pg. Someone who is lengthy, can defend, hit open shots, and create occasional scoring opportunities is probably sufficient, imo. Vincent is a scrappy dude who can probably run with the guys once Lowry is gone. I'd say he's likely the most realistic option.

Of course, once Butler is off of the books (and so are Lowry and Robinson) I'd love to go out and get DFox. :D

We are not winning a championship with 6 foot undrafted PG Gabe Vincent. The talent is just not there.

..and the money isn't exactly there either to bring in a star level pg when Butler and Bam are making the max, Herro is making 30m/year, and Duncan is making 66% that, right?

WTF is up with the schedule makers?

In our first 2.5 months we have 23 games:

- We play 13 actual teams. Celtics, Raptors and Wizards we play 3x. Warriors, Blazers, Kings, Hornets we play 2x
- 5 games vs 2022 Finalists, 15 games against 2022 playoff/playin teams

Not saying it's good or bad to front-load the schedule like this but I've just never noticed anything like it before

Heat still need the skill set of Lowry. Need a player who knows how to distribute the shots. I just dont trust he will be healthy come playoff time or throughout the playoffs

getting some real bad vibes about him.

He looks just as slow and out of shape as he did last year, and his general attitude seems to be "how many more paychecks i got left before I retire".

We can't afford a non-scorer as out starting PG. We don't have enough natural scorers to carry his low scoring. And his defense is also slipping.

What a mistake it was to pass on Maxy in the draft.

ATM it looks like we have the worst starting PG of all the contenders.

I'll put it like this - I'm so down on Lowry I'm starting to like Kyrie trade idea.

His annoying crazy ass can at least put points on the board.

It is too early for this Debbie Downer nonsense. The season hasn't even started yet.

I look at it differently. I think we need a pure point to evenly distribute the ball between Herro, Butler and Bam and get them the ball in their most efficient spots. Don't think the Heat need a combo guard like Maxy who just gonna bring ball up and Jack up a shot.

Deaaron fox would be a miracle, holding out for anything more than that just isn't sane. Our core as-is is likely the most talented that it will ever be, just gotta enjoy the season and hope for best

I think what the playoffs revealed is that more than anything else, Mia needs a guard who can get buckets in the half court and, in general, provide meaningful minutes.

Pretty much all of their guards went completely missing leaving the burden on Jimmy to do all of the heavy lifting.

I love "traditional PGs" who are pass first floor generals, but it's apparent that Mia would be served best if they can aquire a highly skilled ball handler who can generate buckets for himself when all else fails.

Herro will play the role as a scoring guard. Lowry is fine as point guard. He will take charges and make full court passes and be the glue. Our offense does not have to work like other teams.
