Re: Draymond Green striking Jordan Poole at practice
Kuminga has always had the playmaking ability to his game. It's one of the reasons combined with his size and athleticism that so many NBA players/coaches/analysts have said that his potential is the highest of our young guys. You don't see that combo very often, and it is a game changer when a guy has it.

He’s been a willing passer since his first appearances. He just wasn’t seeing the game fast enough to make decisions on the fly about whether he was going to put up a shot or pass so he seemed to default to what was easiest for him which was to get to the rim. But the Maggette/low IQ derp takes we’re stupid. He grew up playing soccer. Basketball IQ comes fairly easy to guys who grew up playing passing games. Frankly it can come easier to them because they don’t have the bad iso habits that come from being a young star basketball player at lower levels in the states.
There’s also a whole substory here about his bad experience playing for the Ignite. Kuminga basically had to pry the ball out of Jalen Green’s hands to ge touches or shots. Brian Shaw hinted at what was going on during the draft when he reminded everyone that “this is first and foremost a TV show.” He was very frustrated that edicts to highlight and market Jalen cheated other players on that team. Some of that culture frustration came with Kuminga in his first year, and the crappy experience on the ignite probably has something to do with Kuminga’s lack of enthusiasm for lower level assignments and garbage time. He’s smarter than that level of play and shows it regularly. This may just be a guy who does not benefit from playing down.

Agreed, he's a super high IQ dude. Kinda funny that Kerr compared him to Shawn Marion, when he's a lot more laid back and intelligent like Bobo Diaw. I guess he's sort of a combo between the 2 because of his athleticism.

Kuminga was playing the Wiggins/iguodala role when he was thriving as a 4 next to draymond. He really doesn’t do anything similar to draymond yet.
Agreed...Which is why I always figured that Kuminga would slide into Wiggins' spot and Wiggins would be the odd man out. With Wiggins re-signing though, you'd have to imagine that the organization now views Kuminga as Draymond's replacement. Come to think of it, I don't think I've heard Lacob comment about the Draymond incident. It's entirely possible that Lacob is PISSED. Like "How dare you damage the Warriors brand?" level PISSED. If that's the case, then Draymond is essentially a dead man walking in Warriors Land.

Kuminga replacing Dray makes a TON of sense.. he seems to play better with more responsibility but not necessarily scoring responsibility

Re: Draymond Green striking Jordan Poole at practice
I don't support giving Draymond a big extension, even if this incident hadn't happened.
Then again, I'm not paying the luxury taxes though if I ever go to some games, I guess I'd be contributing with the high ticket prices.
But we saw what the team was like from late January, early February on, until Green came back from injury. I don't know that anyone on the roster or the league will be able to replicate what he's done for the team.
So I can kind of see his POV. He's been instrumental in the first 3 rings and this last one, he's been ineffective in some playoffs games and got himself suspended in a couple or in foul trouble. Yet until the team shows they can win without him, it's hard to just dismiss his role.
He's made a lot of money in his career but several of his teammates have made a lot more and now two relative newcomers to the team will be making more during their careers.
So he's going to be salty, though that's true to an extent of every player. Even some superstars who retired just within the past 5 years will see their career earnings eclipsed by a lot by some kids who are just 20 or even younger now.

You know, scorring is still apreciated in this game. He had over 10 years to improve his shooting, and he didn't. Who's fault is that?

He is an elite role player and got paid as such. Him getting punked by the FO makes me happy as hell because I think he probably feels humiliated, which he deserves for the constant drama and **** ups he's done for 7 straight years. On or off the court.
Draymond on another team would have been a guy that a casual NBA player wouldn't even know his name. I understand it and have zero sympathy for him because of his actions over the years.

Did Dray improve a single aspect of his game after the the 15-16 season?

Curry made it very clear that he expects to be playing alongside Dray and Klay as long as a Championship is a realistic possibility. Smart man, that Stephen Curry!
