Why the **** isn't Sharpe playing more minutes? He should be getting at least 25 a game, crap he might end up being like the 4th best player on the team by the end of the season.

Sharpe's line

3-4 FG
2-2 3P
1-2 FT
2 Reb
+9

Has only played 9 minutes in the god damn game, brilliant decision by Billups!

Josh Hart should start at the 2 and Winslow should start at the 3. Simons and Sharpe would be 6th and 7th men.

Did the Blazers forget how to pass the god damn ball? I have seen SO MANY careless turnovers that are basic ****.

Davis riding the back of Lillard while he gets the rebound no call.

He is likely super gassed and should not be playing this many minutes in game 1 of the season. Let him get back into game shape, he does look better than he looked last season at least somewhat. Keep in mind he hasn't played a real NBA game in a pretty damn long time until tonight.

Yeah, you're right. He just looks like he did last season, but he's probably not in game shape. Makes me wonder why he wasn't getting into game shape in the pre season. I kept thinking man, he needs reps and to get his conditioning back after missing an entire season.

I'm sure he was trying it's tough to get into game shape when you haven't played a game in a long time. Almost every NBA player comes back looking pretty rough after an injury that sidelines them for a long time. This is also a case of him being our best player without question, so Billups wants him out there it's not like he was some 4th or 5th best player on the team.

Dame had a disastrous shooting game against Sacramento to start last season. Hopefully his season (and Portland's) is better than that! At least the Blazers look set to win this one. That said, Dame made some really, really good plays with the ball that have me hopeful that he'll be better than last year.

He did have a decent number of assists and was very effective on the FT line though.

Obviously Dame is the most important player for Portland and as he goes, the Blazers will likely go. I hope he works into a good groove after shaking off the rust. I'm looking for positives, and there were quite a few. And Portland got the win!

Hart and Grant showed that even if Dame is having a rough shooting night, they can carry enough of the offensive burden to keep the blazers in touch. 42 points, 15 rebs, 6 assists and 3 steals from them on very efficient shooting. We didn’t have that luxury last season with Powell and Covington.

Winslow’s defence on Sabonis down low showed just how strong he is and how much flexibility he gives the squad. Giving up lots of size to a physical player but didn’t budge an inch when Sabonis was trying to back him down and he’s very effective playing close to the basket on the offensive end.

Yeah I liked what Winslow was doing and he was pretty damn effective scoring the ball also. He was playing tough in general and really busting his ass to get loose balls. Crap he had a ridiculous +21 tonight, the highest of any Blazer by a landslide, small sample size so far for sure but he sure was very effective tonight.

I’m not sure why Winslow was written off so early as not being the starter at 3, he has the size (build) and defense we’ve needed for a long time, plus he can handle the ball a little, rebound, and make good plays averaging 4 assists a game his last healthy season. Hart should be starting but at the 2 and Simons should come off the neck and win 6th man of the year, as he would probably lead the league in scoring off the bench.

How the hell do we get rid of Nurkic though? We can’t trade him until January but who would take his contract? I think the Blazers would be idiots to not look at Cousins, Favors, Aldridge and even Whiteside for that last roster spot.
