Yeah, looking absolutely abhorrent on the execution. Not a wining caliber type of execution trying to get this closeout. This may have been a win but a lose in my book on the Heat growth still fell short in my book.

Good game guys. Just curious, do you guys feel Koloko deserved to get tossed? Not suggesting it effected the result. Just wondering how a non-Raptors fan sees that.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Was nice to see a W. I don't think they'll be a 1 seed but if they make a move at the deadline they can be a contender again IMO

this team as currently build is deeply flawed. it lacks a true scorer and its defense is still suspect too. interior defense is way lacking and its allowing opponents to score many pts even if they are having a bad night. yep i think it could be a long long season ahead of us.

in the meantime lets enjoy 50 percent off some crappy pizza tomorrow lol

NO, he fell backward when Caleb leaned over him and raised his hands like he was not intending to start anything, he may have stood up like he was gonna do something, but you cannot toss a guy for body language without them actually doing anything.

No but the NBA is buttersoft butterscotch. Gilbert Arenas, Ron Arrest and the rest of the thug crew ruined the tough-centric nba for the rest of us.

The league is completely different now.

No, probably not. Not really sure why Caleb reacted the way that he did honestly. Was a weird situation

Yeah, he got up and grabbed Caleb after Caleb chose to tower over him and Koloko kind of swung on him too before he got scooped. I wouldn't be upset if Koloko wasn't tossed. Caleb absolutely deserved to get tossed for all that though.

He was severely lacking in stamina and the only thing I can figure is that he's not performing up to par in practice yet. There's no reason to not play a 6'11" rook with talent unless he has some work to do.

That tells you that the team will always prioritize vets and paid players over rookies due having earned their minutes unless those rookies are top 15 in the draft. Its the way it is, until Jovic gets that year under his belt he won't be seeing the floor, and even next year it will be spot minutes. Year three is when he may see some real minutes.

Systemic to a fault.

Not only ridiculous approach stalling growth of young players with skills, but in many cases shutting off their confidence.

Look it is simple, if they don’t make their 3’s, they lose. Today they were lucky enough to barely win. Tomorrow it may be a loss with small specialist players with limited skills, struggling to rebound.

The way I see it he was driving his elbow into the back of his head, and then ripped his arm back and made elbow to head contact, that set Caleb off....

What was the most interesting is Jovic was the first dude off the bench, and did not look like he had good intentions.

Jovic might have some fight in him.

Exactly. Why build the drama up so much? Play him a little here a little there. If he wasn't good in preseason I wouldn't have my panties all up in a bunch for the kid.

Glad he didn't get penalized. That was not a smart move but maybe he didn't know.

I don’t know, did you see his passing skills, dribbling and shooting mechanics?
That’s not a sign of a raw player. This is a Sporonic attempt by an egotistical coach, who feels safe dictating his way or the highway.

Spos the old kung Fu master. But must he be so tough? Is this the Bride meeting the old master at the top of the mountain?

No, it's a game where you put a ball in a hole.

Its the cardinal rule of you cannot be affected by what you cannot know ever existed. If Jovic gets minutes and out plays other players on the team, it means that there is no other response from the team at that point but to have to jump him in front of others in the minutes hierarchy. Someone who either just got a guaranteed deal, or was promised minutes in their negotiated contract during signing will be buuthurt and Miami is the type of organization that is a dead set example team without skipping a precedent to shake the tree of this is how we do things here.

Good Win. Would have been a blowout if not for Caleb being tossed out. They lost their nerves after that. I think they lacking a bit confidence after the first 2 losses. Hopefully this W calms them down and they get back to playing good basketball.
Some thoughts on some players
Struss - He's playing himself out of our price range. Its gonna be more important to dump Duncan and maybe even Lowry to keep Struss.
Herro - Really good 1st half till the foul trouble. His improvements are noticeable. Just needs to be smarter when he's fouls and let some baskets go. Still needs to put more muscle to improve his defense
Bam - Still hasn't figured out how to maximize his offense. I picked him to lead team in points, but I was way off. If we are in Butler timeline, Bam might be the piece to move to get to the contender status. I'd only move him for a top 10 player under 30. I'm hoping LA situation blows up and we can do a straight swap for AD.

Is it shutting it off, or preserving their confidence.

They know what the guy looks like in practice. They know what they have in him, and might be sacrificing early in the season to make sure Jovic has the best chance possible to hit the ground running.

Jovic fits what they want from a small ball big, I find it hard to believe there is NO REASON why he is not playing.

Maybe he still makes too many mistakes, maybe it is conditioning who knows. I don't think they should waive whatever criteria they use to determine "readiness" just because the guy was drafted. I would bet it is the same rules for every player, and Jovic has not whatever criteria he needs to hit to get on the court.

all we can do is guess....

My guess is the fouls, the team can't have preseason Jovic and Dedmon in the same game. They would put teams at the FT line with-in 2 mins of checking into the game.

Speaking of Dedmon when the heck is Yurt getting back, I think I have seen of enough of Dedmon this season already.
