Its the way it is, until Jovic gets that year under his belt he won't be seeing the floor, and even next year it will be spot minutes. Year three is when he may see some real minutes.
Systemic to a fault.
Not only ridiculous approach stalling growth of young players with skills, but in many cases shutting off their confidence.
Is it shutting it off, or preserving their confidence.
They know what the guy looks like in practice. They know what they have in him, and might be sacrificing early in the season to make sure Jovic has the best chance possible to hit the ground running.
Jovic fits what they want from a small ball big, I find it hard to believe there is NO REASON why he is not playing.
Maybe he still makes too many mistakes, maybe it is conditioning who knows. I don't think they should waive whatever criteria they use to determine "readiness" just because the guy was drafted. I would bet it is the same rules for every player, and Jovic has not whatever criteria he needs to hit to get on the court.
all we can do is guess....
My guess is the fouls, the team can't have preseason Jovic and Dedmon in the same game. They would put teams at the FT line with-in 2 mins of checking into the game.
Speaking of Dedmon when the heck is Yurt getting back, I think I have seen of enough of Dedmon this season already.
