Well, if any team needs to be relegated; it’s the Sixers.

Doc needs to be relegated to the G League and can only be offered an NBA job again if he wins the G-League championship.
(assuming the G League championship is something that exists)

I’d sell high on Evan Mobley.
He’s not gonna get touches now with Mitchell. His scoring will peak at 18 to 20ppg. He wont be able to get big reb numbers because of Jarett Allen.
If im Mobley, i’d even ask for a trade. But then if you give Mobley that much usage and without playing with another big, his weakness can get exposed.

You can’t be serious lol I already put Mobley over Towns and Gobert by the sheer fact he’s All NBA defensive standard (don’t build around non defensive centres unless you are literal Dirk level offense) and he’s shown more than Gobert ever will on that end. Stop the ludicrous takes
They just got Mitchell, if anything we should be looking at Rubio to pry from them.

Will he be a go to guy? Which option? First? Second? Third?
I look at JJJ with the Grizz and I see the same thing. They should have sold him at a high and you see how easy it is for them to get a good replacement with Aldama or Brandon Clarke

Re: Around The League: 2021-2022 Season 2.0
The tweets are funny as hell, but this should be considered the penalty for tanking moving forward. Give me a choice between G-League relegation for a year or several years of multiple Colangelos, I'll take the G-League in a second. But the fact that Silver would even bring up the idea of relegation is the height of idiocy.
Quite frankly, as a fan, I'd rather have my team tank with a plan and the right people in place to rebuild than the mediocrity treadmill any time. We lived through both here, and while The Process produced comically bad basketball, there was at least that light at the end of the tunnel that we never had in the Iggy years.

They probably should have just took Wagner. Or if they believed he could develop a jumper, Barnes. Taking bigs over wings is always the wrong move.

Difference is JJJ was constantly injured, nowhere near the defender Mobley is and had years in the system and hasn’t come close to the potential in the College.
Must be a cultural thing or something else but personally couldn’t give a stuff about options, Cavs are going to be really really good and anyone with half a brain can see that you don’t cash it in when the cheque hasn’t even been written.

Sure. Defender. And JJJ is no slouch on defense. He’s one of the best switchable big who can provide elite rim protection.
While on the other hand, Mobley’s defense is masked because of Jarett Allen. If Cavs isnt playing this twin tower line-up he’s not gonna be that good on defense because his lack of physicality will be exposed.
Then on offense what’s Mobley’s role gonna be?
He’ll never be as good as Jojo. And even Jojo himself is quite a baggage already on offense where you can’t run a fast paced perimeter offense that this game favors
So in the end, you dont need Mobley’s offense and you’ll just be paying him for defense. I say get out before you’ll be forced to pay him the max, which he and his agent would force you to. Look at Ayton and the Suns
Anyway i think Mobley will follow the JJJ 20+M per year destiny. If Mobley asks for the max, then i’d rather letting him test the FA waters

Yes. Barnes would be perfect actually. Barnes can hunt opportunistic baskets and set-up those two guards, but i dont think they expect to end up with Mitchell.
This bigs over wings or guards issue is very interesting.
Every year you’ll see a ayton, wiseman, mobley, holmgren or wembayama that’s gonna get a lot of hype. Be drafted first overall, happy marriage then.. reality sinks in.
they’ll look to get the max, and by doing so they’ll go for all these individual accolades like scoring numbers and MVP. This would going away from winning style of offense.
Im all for the “lets max out what life gives you” maybe you need to build around wembayama or Mobley. But I know you need less talent to win around Scoot than Wembayama. Same thing that I think you need less talent to win around James Harden at 32yo than Embiid at 28yo.
What I think makes Giannis an outlier that is frequently used as “but why bucks win with Giannis”? is Giannis is a guy who can be the best basketball player in the world but he puts winning over that. If you put Ayton’s ego on Giannis, Giannis would easy average 30ppg 15rpg 7apg and 2bpg. Consistently for full 82 games.
Giannis and Jokic were not drafted high. They started from humble beginnings and still sound very humble at this point. There’s no “im the best player in the world” or “i should have been the MVP” tone when they talk. At this point they already overachieved. They aren’t looking to be better than x.

Meh I think you are underrating Mobley and overrating Barnes.
He’s in year 2 chill. Said before don’t cash it in before the cheque has been written.
The raptors all 6”9 approach doesn’t work because of a fatal flaw unless one is Magic (Ball in hand).
In any case I don’t see championship build arounds for either. But I do see excellent ancillary value for both.
Also isn’t that just a personal bias call on the Ayton/Giannis ego thing? Literally no one knows.
One thing is for sure Giannis is if not the most egoless superstar in the game hence the unbelievable success he’s had despite having obvious skill thresholds/flaws to his game.
Just quickly I do think in the end Embiid will end becoming the villain. There’s consistent evidence over the seasons that his ethics are unfortunately not close to what is needed.

Ainge might win GMOY. Kessler and picks is a good return for Gobert. Markannen and picks is a good return for Mitchell. Get Scoot or Wemby next year, trade all the picks and they might be in the finals earlier than we do.

He’s that good. I think certain players just know how to be killers on offense regardless of level.

Yeah, he’s a definite killer. Not even thinking twice and has a quick and high release if the shot is open.
