Yup. Good to see Wood make them too. Looked like he made it a point to make up for last games struggles. Good mindset.

This sort of defense and intensity is surreal. Finally, the Mavs looks like a PO team in top shape.

But Memphis is really bad rebounding team without JJ. But I like the defense on Bane and Morant.

Morant had 20 points, 8 of them from freethrows. So 12 points from open play. If other teams looked how mavs locked down ja, memphis might actually get it kinda rough this year

Don't you think it's better to wait entire season and then try to sign him for max instead of rather cheap? :o I mean, it's how Cuban prefers to do business these days.

Also, shoutout to DFS and Bullock for playing defense on Morant. Luka did his thing aswell, nicely stopping driving lanes and stepping infront of people. Good job overall.

If Wood takes the extension, you must do it, he's eligible for 20/yr for 4 years, that's a good contract to have.
It was a good game for team morale, after heart crushing loss in opener, things to look out for:
THJ finding his rytham
Integrate other play maker than Luka/Dinwiddie, Wood shows good iso ability.
the Luka/McGee connection is still a bit off.
Defense wins draft lotteries!

Just memphis tho, just as we always lose to suns we alwasy beat memphis. But this start of the season, those 2 games then away to Nola and then to brooklyn. Could easily been 0-4 even if playing good.

There's no way this team will have a 0-4 stretch with an healthy Luka Doncic on the starting 5. Impossible.

Wood is a beast, finally a big who can create his own shoots. Light years better than KP.

20X4 would be a bargain, right now every mediocre NBA player take that moneys.
I think 25M per year is the good number.

This one was crazy aswell. Triple teamed down in the pocket and still found a guy for a basket.

Bastards recorded the Luka pass off the board to DFS as a missed shot instead of an assist.

Do you think that was intended as a pass?

Tough to make an argument that was a pass. It would have required some very dodgy home cooking from the stats keeper.

Does it matter,? these are home stat keepers, when in doubt, home cook :)
P.S. Luka claimed it's a pass

I'm rewatching the extended highlights, there is a special place in hell for Luka for what he did to that fat rookie in the 1st quarter.

David Michael Roddy. It does jump out how on each single play, #27 is there defending.

I don't think Wood will settle for 20/yr for now. Many teams can use him once he proved that he can contribute in winning team as well.
