Pistons 313 store size chart

Post#1 » by Tius645 » Fri Oct 21, 2022 10:39 pm

Hey there! I wanted to buy this sweatshirt from the Pistons 313 store, but since I’m from Italy, it’s a little bit pricey to get anything shipped here so I wanted to be sure about the right size.

Can somebody please help me out?
I think an S or an M will be right for me, but I don’t know which one!

how big are you? it's weird they don't have their own sizing chart but there are a bunch of conversion charts if you google them.

i haven't bought any team merch in a while so i can't say anything to how the fit is - from my memory team apparel usually fits bigger.

How many kilograms do you weigh and how many centimeters tall are you?

180cm x 80 kg. When I ordered a Cunningham tshirt I went with an M, and it’s ok, but I don’t know if it’s the same for sweatshirts…

If a M tshirt is a bit snug I'd go with a L sweatshirt. If the M shirt has some room for ya I'd get a M sweatshirt. I used to be your same size/height (about 10 years ago) and at that time I'd wear a M shirt and and a L sweatshirt but I liked a bit of extra room on sweatshirts.

Ok, so I’ll do the conversion in case anyone else wants to weigh in. 180cm = 5’11” and 80kg = 176 lbs which puts you at slightly taller than average with a fairly average build but toward the slimmer side by American standards. For a shirt or sweatshirt sold in the USA (meaning sized to fit the way Americans prefer, which is looser than Euros in my experience), you might get away with a mens M. I’d recommend a L and you are definitely NOT a S, even by American sizes. Mens S is for guys 5’6” and 140 lbs. (168cm and 63kg)

I'm basically this same size at 5'11 and 176. I prefer Medium in almost everything. I can also wear some larges but its more of a relaxed fit good for things like lounging around the house.

Not talking about Tius, but this is exactly how advertising bots should behave. Not trying to "sell" anything, just asking for help and placing a link that we'll all helpfully click on. :-)

So I bought this hat several years ago at LCA, and they don't seemingly make them anymore. Not fitted, not snapback, but stretches slightly, has a soft bill, is grey, and has the Pistons logo on the side, very understated.

Every single hat I've seen now is glaringly loud, and obnoxious, or it's a hideous fitted, or snapback.

It's getting old now, as hats do, and I have no replacement. Checked out the 313 store and its one gaudy hat after another.

Anyone seen some cool understated Piston hat?

(Clothing thread?)

Edit* guess it's a flexfit hat, and there's nothing in that section. Greeeeaaat.

I got a nice detroit vs everybody bucket hat off Amazon all black with the logo they had some other styles to. I'm more of a neutral colors guy myself too.

Sure, there’s a personal preference for fit in there, hence the mention of Europeans generally preferring a tighter fit than most Americans. I work for a global company and almost all the Europeans wear any shirt—t-shirt, dress shirt, sweatshirt/sweater—skin tight. My two sons are 5’10 and 178 and 150, and they wear L and M respectively in what I’ll call the “usual” American fit.

On top of that, there’s the consideration of where the garment is manufactured as well. I’m a whisker under 6’ and 215 and generally an XL in everything. However I have received a number of XL t-shirts as gifts that were made in China but are a lot more like an LT (large tall) because they’re skin tight and go halfway to my knees. Stuff made Vietnam or Indonesia seems to have a pretty accurate fit in the body but often seem to have shorter sleeves if it’s a long-sleeved shirt, stuff made in Central America is generally good as is just about everything made in the US. Relative to the “usual” American fit, that is.

I had a couple of nice flexfit hats over the years—a Cubs one and a Wings one that were both awesome. Lost the Cubs hat during a high speed boat ride and left the Wings hat in a hotel room in Germany.

Thanks Manocad! I went with an M! I was thinking about getting an S because the M Cunningham tshirt that I bought last year definitely has some room.

I bought that sweatshirt, a Detroit vs Everybody SnapBack hat, a luggage tag, a magnet and a patch. I tend to order more stuff in only one order because 45$ for shipping is definitely not cheap.

See I always kick myself when I find shirts or pants that fit right, and don't order more of them almost immediately, as clothing companies I swear, stop making them the instant I get em.

I'm 5'11 220, and I got big shoulders, and a longer torso, so that info about the shirt is spot on. Some t-shirts fit absolutely perfect, while others exactly what you said. Skin tight, down to my damn knees. Same size mind you. Don't even get me started on button, or polo shirts. Some are so tight I wonder if they make them for some made up chart.

Jeans are brutal, as depending on who makes the damn things I'm either a 32, 34, or even 36 waist.

One of the best things I ever did was go to a proper store, and get fitted for everything. Pants, shirt, suit jacket, blazer, shoes, the works. Spent a pretty penny, but man the fit...

I'll have to keep in mind about the countries. I wonder if its the same for shoes as well? 13 or 14 depending on the shoe, and maker, but wide. Good luck with that.

I wonder if there is a place that does fittings for jeans. Real ones, not those dumbass skin tight things.

The customer service from 313 just answered my email about a size chart with this image, but I don’t know how to interpret it. Are those, inches? Cm?

Chest circumference, in inches. I buy stuff sized like that in the US in 46, thus XL for me.

The caveat here is an assumption that your belly isn't bigger around than your chest, and at your height and weight I'm assuming that's not an issue.

Unless you've got some crazy build with scrawny shoulders and waist and 40 lbs of beer gut. :D
