I would say, no, we are not overrating Paolo. Rookies that have gotten off to starts like this have gone on to be generational talents. If we can keep this up for the first few months of the season, I think we may have one. His BBIQ and the way that he can move around the court is something rare. He just needs to hits some jumpers and he will be at the 30ppg mark quickly.

Yes, literally one season. Which everyone now considers to be a complete outlier one that came in a contract year. That also happens to be the only All-star and All-NBA season he has ever had and ever will have the rest of his career.

Banchero has a far more developed handle than Randle does. He is also a more fluid athlete/creator off the dribble which is why he's closer to Lebron playing style-wise then any other forward we've pretty much seen. That's not even mentioning the playmaking ability and court vision, which alone separates him from Randle. There's also the fact that he will probably be 3 inches taller when it's all said and done.

It's just a lazy comparison that people have used to cap Paolo's ceiling. If you want to sig bet that Banchero will have more than 1 All-star and All-NBA season in his career I will happily do it.

Randle had a good season in his contract year.

Am i the only one.that thinks it's kind of disrespectful to use this thread as the one for posting Paolo updates etc?

The question was asked and answered.

Can't we let this one just die and go back to using the normal Paolo thread?

Not in any way aimed at those who are posting that content, btw. Just find the thread somewhat embarrassing.

IF this team can't learn to move the ball and develop some offensive sets...Paolo's 20ppg is going to start feeling like the Oladipo, Tobias, Vuc, Harkless, Fournier empty calories season. No knock on PB- he is truly great...more a matter of giving him a reason to continue playing winning unselfish basketball on both ends. We need a taste of quality victory.

Four games in, Mr. Banchero has four NBA gamelogs with a 20ppg+ scoring line. He and Mathurin are studs on offense early season.

facts.

this young man - so far - is on a rookie campaign, the nba hasn’t seen in a while.

only thing that stops paolo from being able to reach a 30ppg season on a good efficiency really soon is his 3 pointer. so far it’s looking streaky, midrange game was strong at duke and he showed it occasionally in his first games.

saying we’re overrating him seems to be a absolute hot take, whoch should’ve worn out by now, he proved himself already.

I agree. I left it open long enough just so the crow can be eaten and maybe some good discussion can be had, but there already is a "Welcome Paolo Banchero" thread which seems to be more apt for discussions moving forward. Going to lock it.
