Taking away some of his iso possesions isn't the end of the world IMO...especially with this roster.

That being said, watching Harden dribble dribble dribble is fine when the end result is a made shot. He has passed up some open looks of catch and hasn't consistantly got all the way to the rim. So his way isn't flawless either.

Both guys need to find ways to impact the offense without having the ball in their hands for half the damn shot clock...Biid more than Harden but still. The offense simply gets stagnant and ends up in ball watching too often.

Right, particularly since it gets him an easier look at the exact shot he ends up taking in his face up game most of the time, and subtracting the obstacle of him being double teamed.

I worry more about the Harden dribble isos taking away the value of players like Maxey & Melton. They need and deserve some time on ball to get in a rhythm and pressure the defense.

Harden is playing great right now, but by virtue of playing this great the offense is designed around him instead of Joel. A lot of that is an issue of Joel not being in "game form" yet.

But maybe an issue will arise once we want to transition back to an Embiid offense once he gets into shape.

And that’s exactly how it should be. Harden is a our lead guard, best distributor, best facilitator (it’s not even close there’s really no second here lol), best perimeter threat.

The game we saw against the Pacers is what in the end I envisioned for Embiid, less ball, more effective shots, less of a black hole and more focus defensively. Dude gets 25 a game just existing so you shouldn’t revolve your offence with everything in mind to cater to him it’s wrong as we’ve seen in the end.

Maxey should not be facilitating because he ain’t a good one. He should be attacking relentlessly whenever he gets the chance vs looking to facilitate as instructed by the coaching staff.

With the starting lineup, Harden as PG and Maxey as SG.
With bench, Melton/Milton as PG, Maxey as SG.

It’s early days but Harden 3rd in overall efficiency. The only concern is his mins. I donot think it’s sustainable at 38 mins per game. We need a fresh Harden come playoff time.

I agree but they still need to have some PnR and DHOs run for them to give them opportunities to get in the paint. The first 3 games especially had too much of Melton parked in the corner which minimizes his role too much.

At the end of the day it's important to be capable of playing through both, and I'm hearing a lot of this.... "Well Joel Embiid can get his elbow shot from the pick and pop with Harden"and that's true. But, when they get eliminated the critique is going to be that they didn't get Joel in low post position. So the 4 out 1 in ability is crucial. It provides crucial mismatches, and puts an immediate mismatch on the floor. Joel just has to read it correctly, and he got better at it last year. He's improved the last two games this year... Essentially he can get the ball anywhere on the floor and draw double team. Gotta exploit it and he's capable. A lot of what they got yesterday versus the pacers was out of that offense.

But at the end of the day, it's a lot easier just get into the pick and roll.... It will also improve pacing.

What the trend has been is that they start with the four out one in. Then Harden takes over when Joel goes to the bench early. They also run it in the Joel centric lineup. To close the games, it has been Harden. It's a smart thing to do when it works. You also don't want to run either one of them went to the ground, and I'm sure they planned to rest both guys periodically in the season. But they're seeing a lot more Houston Harden then early Nets version, But I don't think this roster lends itself to that version unless Maxey really takes that step

So I think a lot of what people want to see this was actually happening. The execution is just a work in progress. Even Maxey is getting his shots, he just needs to be efficient again.

Last season ya all wanted th the Houston harden the scorer/ passer after he was a passer before a scorer for the Nets and Sixers . This season it’s more balanced. He is still giving you 10 assists but more points and more efficiently. Trus me this is still not even remotely close to Houston apex harden when he averaged 36 points for a season and 34 the next. He was having a stretch when he averaged 44 points for a whole straight month in 2019. I think it was January 2019
