Game #4 LAC vs OKC @ 5:00pm

Post#1 » by PeteyPablo » Tue Oct 25, 2022 12:26 pm

Clippers are on the road today , looking to get back in the winners column.

Thunder have been hanging with their opponents so far but lose their first three games by a combined 23 points.

They lost to Denver and Minnesota twice.

Illness sucks, it is the time of year for flu and cold season. Offense needs to tighten up, hopefully they can start to build that momentum.

Damn, no PG stinks....really want to take Norm in my fantasy league (we get to pick one game a week to count) tonight now, but the way he's been playing me is scaring me off.

Games like this show why depth is so vital

Clippers need to get their offense in order. It looked like the Suns were getting any shot they wanted on Sunday and the Clippers were struggling for every basket. Night and Day difference between the two teams.

Can we expect a big game from John Wall with PG and Morris out and Kawhi playing 18 minutes?

Thunder are currently 0-3. Clippers are 2-1, having lost their first game of the season to Chris Paul. Tonight, they'll be without a number of players, some on illness, some on assignment, one for personal reasons, and two for competitive rest. Thunder are aiming to tank this year and steal Victor Wenbenyama from the San Antonio Spurs. And as we well know, Clippers are not too keen on taking lottery teams seriously. We might be looking at an automatic win for the Thunder tonight.

I see Coffey getting the start today. Clippers are going to need some of that hot drink to keep themselves awake (literally), and only by starting Coffey will they maintain their sense of urgency.

not for nothing, but it's gonna be a good while before the offense begins to look like anything worthwhile. comparatively, the suns are a team that just came off a great regular season, deep playoff run, and have all their key players returning. there's certainly going to be a night and day difference between the two teams, but i'd also add that they are not valid teams to compare to begin with.

kawhi's not only on a minutes restriction, but he's coming off the bench, then we have like, half the roster trying to figure out what their roles are, and too many players at the same position to boot (obligatory reference to true's post in other thread)

we're gonna win a good amount of games, but we're gonna lose a bunch of games that we're gonna be labeling as super winnable if not for the whole lineup being in day to day upheaval.

so to me, the next 20 or so games will mostly just to see

A. is kawhi looking like he's healthy and rounding back into form or is there some more tentativeness because he's worried about his ACL/chronic quad?

B. will lue find the right way to deploy wall so that he can push the team's ceiling?

C. how will kennard/powell be used? because to me they're vital, secondary cogs that have to be playing at their best for this team to do their best. but with so many guys on the roster it's possible they don't get enough minutes or find a proper role (though i'd be much less concerned about kennard since his role is really straightforward, shoot - and defend now!)

So he wasn’t scheduled to play on Thursday and now out tonight. Maybe Lue isn’t concerned but it does me. There’s caution and then there’s whatever they’re calling this.

Halfway through the first--this is an interesting lineup:

Zu
Covington
Powell
Reggie
Wall

Plays bigger than it is (lotta wingspan with Covington, Powell, and Wall). Curious to see how it works.

So much for mid season form, no set-backs or flare ups. Will he even play 40 games?

Man , this is brutal to see tonight. Clippers offense has such a challenge to score while OKC just gets to the rim.

It’s Reggie Jackson 1on1 or Norman Powell 1on1 .

Seems like a lack of ball movement

Down by 20 points .. going to need to get focused and turn up the execution.

Let’s take Reggie out and Coffee in.

Have the Clippers aged so much that these young teams are blowing them out of the building ?

Reggie and Norm are washed and need to be sat. Need some youth infused with these lethargic vets who have lost a step. Raw or not play Coffey, Boston, and Diabate. Good luck to us gelling on offense as Kawhi and PG will more than likely be in and out of the line up all season long
