Grizz are a good team as are the Pels and so are the Raptors (but to a slightly lesser degree)

To put things into perspective, the Pels just beat the Mavs without Zion & Ingram

All of those teams have settled rosters while we don't

This team needs time to gel

He isn't the first player in history to look bad after a long layover.

Give him at least 15-20 games before saying he sucks.

100% this and on top we don’t have a coach who utilize players weaknesses, he doesn’t help any of our players starting with Durant all the way down

What Simmons brings to the table on defense he takes off the table on offense - however last game he looked far less afraid to get fouled and attacked the basket. He needs to get game reps at shooting FT to get back to somewhere near 60% imo. Once that happens we'll hopefully see the 'motor' that this team needs

He also needs to figure out how to set a screen - i reckon a 3rd of his fouls are from setting screens

You are absolutely right, but it would still make sense to bring him off the bench, maybe even limit his minutes to begin the season:

- He could get in rythm against second units instead of having to guard every 1. option of other teams like he did the last games (afair he guarded Zion, Siakam and Morant). We still might need him to do that in the playoffs, but maybe he needs to get comfortable on the court first.
- He would not be paired with Claxton.
- Once(if) he gets back in shape, he is best utilized with the ball in his hands. But Ky and KD aren't best used as spot-up shooters either. With playing in the second unit, he could run the offense with tons of spot-up shooters surrounding him (Mills, Curry, Morris, etc. are all good to great catch and shoot players). Ky and KD could still have the ball in the hand most of the time, without Simmons standing around near the basket.
- the second unit needs a playmaker
- Simmons, Curry, Mills, Morris + Warren could actually be a starting unit on paper. In theory they could blow games open against second units. They are certainly limited defensively, but could bring a major boost on offense.

He keeps trying to strong arm people on screens. I don't mind a bit of nastiness from Ben, but be smart about it. Those fouls cost us.

Refs are definitely trying to make a point on those screens this season.

Steven Adams was setting a number of illegal screens but he was setting moving screens with his lower body and not upper body like Ben.

Simmons needs adjust to the refs.

Are we going to pretend like Simmons wasn't the 2nd best player on the #1 seed in the East?

Like he wasn't All NBA?

Like he wasn't nearly DPOY?

All that goes away because he had 3 bad games? Give me a break.

Hes an elite player who has not gotten his mojo back yet.

My problem is not with Simmons. He obviously needs time and that's fine.

Steve Nash is a huge problem. He does not maximize the players on the roster and put players in a position to win.

Marks is a smaller problem as he's been forever incompetent about acquiring good bigs for the team. How is Jarrett Allen the only good Center he's ever drafted or signed? He also knows Simmons flaws and made no (known) attempt at signing a stretch 5.
