Paolo will reach 7ft

Post#1 » by davey_wavy » Fri Oct 28, 2022 12:30 am

Literally just got off the phone with the bro-in-law. He was court side at Orlando vs Cleveland (KIA paid for his seats) and told me P5 was at LEAST 6’11” out there. Bro in-law is 6’9” so he knows height. At 19yo, there’s no way he doesn’t reach 7ft. I could have put this in his welcome thread, but I felt 7ft Paolo deserved his own. I mean, WTF would teams do to stop this kid? I think it’s amazing, and exciting. I had to share as soon as we hung up.

I guess the question is:

Are we underestimating Paolos height?

Yes but is he growing somewhere else too? :eyebrows: :eyebrows: :eyebrows: :eyebrows:
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

I think we're going from one extreme to the other. First, we were overrating Paolo, now, we're underrating him.

Wtf is this obsession with players height?

RJ Hampton sucked at 6'3. He sucks at 6'6.

Kevin Love and Dwight Howard were fake 6'10 guys who are both fringe Hall of Famers since it was discovered they are 6'8.

it's not as important as you think. Dennis Rodman was one of best rebounders ever at sub 6'7.

Chuck "the wide one" Barkley was maybe 6'4"

But: on offense, height can matter in the mid-range game: Banchero's weakest shot.

Im gonna need a photo of your brother in law's shoes before I'm prepared to spend the next 25 pages forensically discussing whether PB is one inch taller or shorter.

Most likely he's done growing. Which is fine, he's big enough.

That's all I have to say about that.

(I'm still a bit sad I didn't get around to making a Paolo "he's a big guy" sig banner during the summer, after hearing on every podcast how 'big' he is irl. Use your imagination on that one)

Without going into the sound logic of your height forecast, I don't necessarily think Paolo growing is a good thing, there's a point where you trade height for coordination and body control.

i remember some of us pre-draft (including myself) were showing pictures of him next to Mark Williams saying that Paolo was almost at 7'

I know this is a joke post...but he's doing pretty well at his current height. I don't think 7 foot will make much difference if he even does get there. If he can handle it I'd say he should get to 260 ish...he would be even better at bully ball.
