Everyone knows it's not just Westbrook. It's Westbrook PLUS - because that's what the front office chose.

It's:

- Westbrook gone PLUS Buddy Hield, Myles Turner and TJ McConnell
- Westbrook gone PLUS Bojan Bogdanovic, Mike Conley, Jordan Clarkson (a month ago) - How good would that deal look right now?
- Westbrook, Nunn and Gabriel gone PLUS Jordan Clarkson, Malik Beasley, Rudy Gay, Mike Conley

The problem isn't Westbrook alone. It's Westbrook gone plus valuable players in his position playing his 25-30 MPG. And taking away Damian Jones, Matt Ryan and other's minutes in the process.

Not sure I follow.... why would anyone trade those players for Westbrook? Those were pre-season clickbait at best. Utah could get picks for those guys...still get the money off the books and not have to deal with Westbrook for a season.

I'm thinking no one is picking up the phone from us. We want him gone we're taking years of salary back....

I don't think it's just the roster and team construction, or lack of talent outside of AD and LBJ. All those are true but there are teams that have even less talent that play better.

The issue is that we don't really have an offensive or defensive system of play. And we don't have shooting, to bail us out of horrendous offensive schemes.

In other words, we suck all around. Offense, defense, coaching.

I'll still be watching every game, but this is clearly a train wreck.

Yup... see the Jazz currently. A team of peers playing for a place in the league vs G Leaguers with an aging superstar, a faux star and simple jack.

If we lose against Minnesota, there's a good chance Darvin Ham's job is on the line.

Also, Kendrick Nunn has been the worst player in the league on a meaningful team, given a meaningful role. Utter **** trash so far.

I might be a tad drunk as typing this, but most If not all of those guys above are all FA next year ... So not really taking years off salary back If all are FA :) - I could be wrong but pretty sure most are FA next year

Edit: I think that's the main reason no trade has come as of yet for Westbrook - Everyone talking about how Lakers don't want to trade 2 pics of 27/29 but really I think they just don't want to trade them because they don't want to trade for players who will be FA next year, I mean what If they walk? :) Lakers won't have bird rights, too any of those palyers ??? And will probably just over pay most of these guys to keep them

Everyone giving Westbrook crap ...

But in reality most should be giving Nunn crap - everyone had high hopes for Nunn and expected him to be a good scorer off the bench OR in starting lineup yet provided nothing- hopefully he won't be on the team next year - his man job Is too score unlike Westbrook, and hasn't provided any value ...

When It comes to this team next season I think most will be gone

Out side of AD/Bron the only players I see staying Is; Reaves, Bev, Walke, maybe Ryan - but most will be gone

It wouldn't surprise me, but I'd be down for that :) and take Klutch sports with him

I hate the Klutch guys and I had miserable time celebrating my birthdays the times Lebron won those rings in Miami and Cleveland. Having said that, I was also very depressed after Kobe suffered that Achilles injury.
55,61,55,56, 47, the NUMBER OF LOSSES they suffered per year. Not a few here hate Lebron so much they'll rather see him gone. No, he's not the same Lebron 4 years ago, I wish he'll play better defense and be more assertive but my gosh, do we really want to go back to that miserable 5 years?
and it's not like we are going to get high value picks anyway if we trade him anyway. Some want to run him out, well, ok, how many superstars would actually be impressed how we handle our players here. Giannis and Luca would say, wow, Lakers really treated Lebron so well, I think I want to go there. :banghead:

It's all about context. How much "expectation" is hung on a $5mil player? Yeah....he's certainly scrubin it up.

If you could trade Nunn for another $5mil player in the NBA....how much better do you think we get?
Cause you let me take Brick's $47mil, and make the swaps I want......we're suddenly in title contention.

I get that it doesn't necessarily work that simply......but I think you get the point.

I hope Jeanie decides it's time to point to the next guy up.

Dunno.....Lebron and AD delivered a title. Something that our collection of young guys would have never done. So it's hard to call this whole Lebron thing a disaster. And to be fair to Lebron...I think he's been better than expected. Most people figured we'd get 2 good years out if his 4-year contract, but that the cliff would finally come. I myself gave him 3 years....but figured that would prob be the end. We're in year 5??....I think that's right, and he's still a great player.

I hear all the rumors about Clutch Sports. I honestly don't know, as I'm not there. But certainly where there's smoke there's fire. I'm sure they are a headache to deal with. I think that at the time when we got Lebron.....we were truly desperate to get our name/face back onto the scene. So I get that a bit of a "deal with the devil" was made.

But I think most execs with a decent IQ would have said "No F--- way" to the Westbrook idea. I mean.....it was quite the general consensus out there that this was at the VERY LEAST, a horrible "fit". But many many many people thought Brick was gonna be a disaster, and would never change who he was. And his inability to shoot had been going on for several seasons.

I've been nothing but a solid defender of Jeanie. And I still don't think she's half the disaster people are calling her. But I do think she needs to fire Pelinka, and get an outsider. As much as I LOVE Jerry West.....I wouldn't even go there. Time to get off your block, and go meet other people. And I'm not totally hatin' on Pelinka btw. But the air is too stale. Even if he can prove that he got into a screaming match with Jeanie regarding Brick....and was overruled. It still just shows a stale room that's too "family".

They fired Vogel to get a "new voice"......sounds nice and cute when you put it like that, eh Rob? I think you should be next.
