Games of interest tonight:

Cavs/Celtics - two 3-1 teams.
Sixers/Raps - Playing each other again, Raps won Wednesday night. Sixers could be 1-5
Lakers/T'Wolves - Lakers first win? No.
Pelicans/Suns (ESPN)- Could have been fun. Still might be. Z and CJ are game time decisions though and Ingram is out.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Can't imagine KD has much patience for this.

Kyrie doesn't have as much recourse since he's in a contract year. But Durant can just nurse an "injury", watch the team fail, and wait for a trade.

And the thing that scouts who have watched Ben Simmons play is his reaction to being in foul trouble.

“Now, in this game here the other night, this was his sixth foul. He was upset about this, but I’ve talked to scouts who have watched Ben Simmons get pulled out games and they believe that — I don’t know if it’s exactly how he feels — but they believe, the scouts believe that he looks almost relieved to be coming out of the game at the time.

I honestly feel kind of bad for Ben Simmons. He seems like he has some sort of mental block going on and it he's getting absolutely hammered from all corners on a daily basis.

Man, it's not a league, it's an association.

Great point. Wonder why they call it League Pass.

I thought last night was probably Simmons' best game of the season and Brooklyn's last possession of regulation was the best of Simmons, he forces Luka into a bad pass that he picks off and leads a fast break with KD trailing who he passes it off to for a dunk. But he still has so many holes in his game and on a superficial level the fit with him and KD and Kyrie is makes sense but once you give it some more thought you'll realize that with KD it isn't great and with Kyrie its even worse. Yeah having them means his scoring output doesn't need to be much but KD and Kyrie being iso-heavy players means that Simmons' offensive output also diminishes significantly and now he's basically a one-way player.

Those first 2 games are fascinating to me for different reasons. If the sixers lose I think there's a 10-15% chance Doc doesn't make the trip back across the border with them.

Cleveland and Boston, I am and was much higher on Cleveland than the median fan/analyst. I think Goldsberry had them at 44 wins and I said it wouldn't surprise me if they have the most wins in the East, although I did say a significant part of that would've been because they're so young they wouldn't be doing much load management. And Boston got absolutely destroyed by the Bulls on the inside, Vucevic had 18/23. One thing Cleveland isn't lacking is size on the inside and we'll see if we see a repeat of that tonight.

I wonder who from the owners side is pushing this. Like on the face it seems like small market teams, but I could see a scenario where big market teams want to be saved from themselves/limit the tax bill. I can't imagine the Thunder are upset with Warriors paying $x00m in taxes.

ETA: Just read 'Replace' Luxury tax. mmmh I really dont like that from a small market team perspective.

The funny part about this was my first reaction was, 'wow I thought he missed more games than that the past two years'

That was actually my first thought. Maybe a fight with an assistant or something? I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

One of the worst players in the league, but that doesn't seem like it would be a concern for a tanking team. Yea, has to be some off court stuff.
