Tre telegraphing these back passes. He stops, the defender goes up on the receiver right away.

4TH Q: SPURS 129 BULLS 124
Just getting to this now. Nice to have it to focus on.
A 14-point lead, a 9-point deficit, a 5-point win. This while missing players, and rallying for and around one another.
Another key stat: 9-27. That used to be our 3s output more often than not, both makes and takes. But the young pace and space Spurs poured in 16-38.
We were on our heels at times in the game as their pace and O rebounding. They ended up with 13 more FGAs and nearly doubled our O boards.
It's impressive how we both build leads and bounce back from deficits. We used to get mired in the valleys for too long and make a last ditch effort in the last few minutes of games.
But we have far more movement and ball sharing, and far more players both getting a chance and stepping up and with everyone feeling like theri contributions count more - because they do.
We had seven players in double figures, including all starters, 37(!) assists. We were led by a stellar game of Keldon's 33 on 8-19, 6-12, 11-12FTs along with 3 boards, 4 assists, and 2 steals; Jakob led us with a double double: 21 on stellar 10-12, 1-2FTs, 13 boards (3 on O), 4 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block; Tre led us with 8 assists even though he struggled with efficiency, scoring 11 on 3-8, 1-2 from 3 (great to see him taking and making these each game now), 4-4FTs (clutch late game, once again), 4 boards (2 on O), 1 steal on team high +23; JRich did a great job providing a steady presence replacing the injured Devin with 12/6/5; and finally, Jeremy stepped up to show how he's growing from one game to the next and providing an all around contribution with 13 on 5-8, 2-4 from 3 (big improvements here), 1-2FTs (needs some work) to go along with 6 boards, 5 assists(!), 1 steal and 1 block.
Sochan bit on a pump fake and was talked to about the lesson. Post-game he talked about being up for a challenge of guarding stars and was singled out by Pop and team mates for being versatile and guarding 1-5.
Doug had 6th man minutes but had one of his inefficient games. Still his constant movement, outside threat, and drives forced defenders to stay honest on him. Zach had a breakout game, leading the bench with 16 on stellar 7-9, 2-3 from 3, 0-1FT with bench high 6 boards (2 on O), 3 assists, and a block. We're starting to get more of the all around two-way game we hoped all the rehab would reap. Terrific contributions from our bigs, Diop included, starting and bench, with stat stuffing contributions.
We recalled rookies Blake and Malaki for extra suport and this was a breakout game for Blake as well. In only 15 minutes he scored 10 points on solid 4-6, 2-3 from 3, and dished out a bench high 4 assists. He drove assertively, finished strong, and used a quick first step to get by players.
If there's one thing we can say about our rookies it's that they do not overthink, do not shy away from the moment, and use their dominant skills to contribute. Blake didn't bite on the pump fake, kept the ball moving, and made the right decisions with the ball.
It's curious that Malaki has yet to see any pro regular season minutes, but perhaps it's a function of him and Blake alternating opportunites. It's what we did in pre-season with them. It may also be a function of scouting and opponents.
Our terrific team-oriented efficiency on O helped offset some unclean play. We telegraphed passes, caved to their D man pressure and quick switches as well as their active hands. They had 13 steals to our 7, part of our 20TOs on which we gave up THIRTY points. TOs continue to be an issue, but we also continue to offset it with multi-threat O.
They made us pay for their delfections, steals, and pace with a 25-10 fast break point advantage, though we chipped into offsetting that with 58-52 points in the paint edge as well as our outside game. Twenty-one extra points from the arc was huge for us, and with 1 through 4 starters attempting them, and 1 through 5 of the bench as well, no one player could be isolated to remove a scoring threat. The whole team was a threat once again.
We had another impressive comeback versus a tough opponent. It was our first home win of the season and gave the fans and ourselves something positive to cheer on.
After the game Keldon talked about responding as a family, staying and playing as one, and it will have to be the mindset all the more going forward.
