Not sure why they picked up Chuma’s option tbh. Everything else makes sense.

I’m really shocked Hampton wasn’t picked up simply because him and Paolo has the same agent.

Go Magic, Go Dwight, Go Vuc, Go Paolo, Go Keegan :)

The Magic could do worse in terms of 3rd stringers.

Perhaps the front office feels like they owe Okeke after he agreed to not sign his rookie year?

I wanted them not to pick up RJs extension last season.

To me, this signals that we will 100% be focused on winning next year. Could we do worse? Sure. But we can do better than RJ as well.

So, this is essentially RJ’s contract year?

This makes sense. Too many guaranteed deals, we can have more cap space and he is kinda bad…

Does that mean RJ Hampton will become Unrestricted Free Agency when his contract is up?

Also means he is likely gone next year.

Hampton will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.

I thought he showed improvement over summer league and last year. He went to the line 5 times today which is a positive stats.

We traded AG for RJ plus Denver's 2025 FRP. And we just let him go after this year for nothing?

But anyway, it works for me either way

The Magic only acquired one draft pick from Denver in the Aaron Gordon trade.

The full deal was Aaron Gordon for Gary Harris, RJ Hampton and a 2025 1st Round Pick that is top 5 protected.

Bol Bol was traded from Denver to Boston in a 3-team deal in January 2022. The Magic then acquired him on deadline day along with PJ Dozier, a 2028 2nd round pick and cash as Boston was looking to duck the luxury tax,

I personally have liked what I've seen from Hampton on the court more than I've liked what I've seen from Anthony, but this is three different coaching staffs and two different front offices now (including Denver) that have not thought highly enough of RJ to play him regularly and ultimately have given up on him.

Maybe they're all wrong, but it seems more likely than not that he is the problem.

RJ Hampton should be a wing.

I know it's positionless Basketball but he should not be playing the point.

It's obvious he is not in their plans.
