I would be severely disappointed if we took him, but I'm not really worried about it to be honest. He's not a WeHam type guy. Let the Kings take another Duke disappointing big man.

Sorry bro, but I am going to need you to eat a little crow on this one LMAO

I'm willing to eat it up. He's been enjoyable to watch! He looks like he's toning up and not as heavy as he was at Duke. I am still worried about his long range. Right now it's not good, but I like the fact that he's not afraid of taking the shot attempts. For sure, his chase down blocks are fun and he makes a lot of hustle plays, but his post defense does need a lot of work and in fact our entire team sucks right now defending the inside. Bol might be our best defender and that's scary. So I've come to LOVE the player, but he's still ascending and needs to address most of the original concerns I had. Best of the Holmgren, Jabari, Paolo trio for sure. I loved me some Jayden Ivey, but knew he wasn't going to be our pick at #1.

I almost forgot about the old school PF archetype. That really is something to avoid, so I think it's fair for people to have been afraid of that.

Guys we are watching something special here with Paolo. I hope we recognize this. I'm embracing it and strapped in for the ride!

I know many will say D12, but I think Paolo is our best player since TMac. Not really a weakness in his game and he's already a mismatch basically every game.

Easily the best offensive player we've had since McGrady. He's been playing like a top 15-20 player already in his first season.

The interesting thing about Banchero is that his perceived weaknesses pre-draft - perimeter shooting and defense - have mostly been weak.

But his strengths - scoring and passing - are even stronger than anyone could have realistically expected this early.

People were suggesting he could become a 2019 Blake Griffin (25-8-5 at age 29) or a 2021 Julius Randle (24-10-6 at age 26) type of player down the road and he basically already is that caliber of player as a teenager :o

The fact that he's doing this at 19 is crazy, he will develop the jumper a little better, I think he's going to be a top 3-5 player in the league in a few years

It's refreshing that there is rookie who doesn't suck at basketball with excuses like "we didn't draft him to be great right away" , "long term prospect" , "he will develop xy skill later".

Good player. Starts off great. Great!

His current shooting percentages are 46/32/75. It's possible those are the exact percentages he ends the season with, hah!

He's at 23/8/4. I don't think he can maintain the 23 points when the guards return. The assists might hold if the shooters return. (Wait, do we have shooters? :))

I don't see myself as "negative". Rather sceptical and not easly blown away by anybody or anything.

Where something or somebody is trully great, i'll acknowledge it, regardless do i like thing/person.

For example i don't like Lebron. I never did. But i never questioned his greatness.
I don't like Trea Young. I was "hater" before draft. When it got obvious i'm wrong, i took that L and moved.

But on this board, about Magic players in particular, i was right way, way more than i was wrong.

That being said, i never trashed Banchero, unlike newfound change of heart people got for him after Magic drafted him

Hell, i'll prove it

Image

I often said that his ceiling is Chris Webber, 5 times allstar, hall of famer.

Now people got butt**** for my playstyle comparison with Randle. But those same people compared him to JabarI Parker and Carlos Boozer from mid January to a moment Magic drafted him. Hypocricy much?

We can go in past and see my arguments with people about Bamba, Gordon, Payton, Fultz... you name it. And find out who's opinion was closer to a truth.

Oh f*** it i had heated argument about freaking Okeke when i said he is "bench Ariza" . But nooo, it was "disrispectful" and i was "hater". 3 years later guy can only dream about having "bench Ariza" career.

His defense isn’t weak at all, not sure where those comments are coming from. His outside shot is a bit shaky but not completely broken. He’s fantastic. Good thing Magic FO made the decision and not us. Chet and Jabari would have been bad picks for sure in comparison, and if Paolo started this way on a different team we’d be in collapse mode permanently
