Re: Around the League
i dont really know much about "fit" but i do know this: the bucks could use ANYONE with an offensive skillset like Kyrie. I'd even suggest a poor man's Kyrie would do just fine.
No to Kyrie though. Just not worth the trouble

Kyrie is the exact type of pg we need next to Jrue.
Kyrie is not a PG. He's an undersized, empty stats SG, and he's the exact opposite of what we need.
I continue to be mystified at the idea of taking the ball out of the hands of Giannis.
Kyrie is just Qanon Monte Ellis at this point.
I prefer NBA Kanye

If any sort of "Westbrook + Lakers picks" deal for Kyrie was on the table this summer and Brooklyn didn't take it.....woof.

LA would still do it.

AND! Brooklyn might be better using the addition-by-subtraction theory.

Lebron still does it (being a massive hypocrite about these sort of things). I think the biggest basketball brand in the LA/Hollywood area having a star player who's a nazi might be some pretty bad optics though.

Re: Around the League
Move the Kyrie discussion to the General board
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Would the Nets then actually play Westbrook or send him home? Does it give the Nets space to sign someone this off-season? (I’d fear they’d come hard at Midds because they have no future picks so they have to go all in with KD)

Meme of the nets PR as Steve Nash with fangs out from the bucks game getting tossed, directing his anger towards a pic of kryrie at the media table would be amazing.

In this deal, they would have those Lakers picks. If Kyrie is gone they probably end up blowing the whole thing up, but there is a chance they are better. Maybe Simmons reverts to form with the ball in his hands more.
Khris and KD would be deadly together, though.

But at the time a vast majority of Bucks fans were happy with the trade, regardless of what is said now. ETA Ray was 27.5, not 26 as has been stated in this thread. Not a big difference, but for accuracy.
There were a lot of people upset at the time, but there also was a huge contingent who were frustrated that the Big 3 (and TT) missed the playoffs the year prior. Everybody had their dude they wanted dealt. And post trade, the Sonics only had that one really good season with 52 wins, but then regressed to 31 and 35 wins, and Ray got shipped out from them at age 32.
Where the trade sign took off was the fact he then got dealt to the Celtics and Heat, where he was able to be the #3 or #4 option, and flourish hitting open threes while five HOF teammates drew the defenses and created the openings.
Ray Allen may be the most overrated player ever. But only by this board.

I suppose the lakers would but that seems to be the only team remotely desperate enough to deal with that clown.

No. No he is not

Re: Around the League
So Kawhi definitely had a setback with his knee right? He’s going to miss 4 games in a row after experiencing stiffness in the knee. It might be over for the Clippers if Kawhi’s legs are just cooked.

I think they’ll take it come December.
I just wonder if Durant goes back on the block by the trade deadline. Offering him for Jaylen Brown makes a lot of sense for the Nets. And I think Boston would have PR problems if they decline that trade.

sounds a little crazy, but I think kd /tatum might be a better matchup for the bucks than tatum/brown, and it narrows their window with kd getting older.

Re: Around the League
Tatum/KD is way better than Tatum/Brown on offense and not that much of a drop off on defense as far as building a wall against Giannis.
The issue is as you mentioned, it really tightens the contention window for them and presumably they have to trade another valuable role player like Smart or White or someone in the deal plus picks.
It’s multiple assets to raise the ceiling a bit for a couple years but closes the overall window by a couple years (assuming they can either re-sign Brown or trade him in another deal for another young player).
Now if the Celtics think Brown is going to bolt, they should do it.
