I'm starting to get a weird gut feeling that the front office will end up trading Kawhi out of nowhere like they traded Blake and Tobias. It just doesn't seem like he'll ever be healthy again, and realistically we can't keep running it back with the same team every year if he won't.

Either way, this whole situation really sucks. It still stings that our one healthy year of this era was wasted on Glenn's "coaching." :noway:

I doubt they will trade him mainly because his value must be very low right now.

If he has a chance of recovering, you should keep him because Kawhi at 75% is probably worth more than anything you can get back in trade for him.

It wouldn’t be so frustrating if they were more forthcoming.

It started last year when they made it sound like he was going to return for the playoffs one day and the next day Lue said he hadn’t seen him.

They know if he’s practicing today or tomorrow. They know if he’s playing tomorrow or not. In a few hours the injury report will come out so why the tap dance now? Just spit it out and be done with it.

The whole situation is starting to come to a head. Kawhi won't talk. The team won't talk. When they do speak its nothing but riddles. Meanwhile we get DNP's and losses to watch. How about Ballmer.. A new arena coming, ClipperVision, restoring all the public basketball courts in LA, new mascot, billboards, etc. but still can't get a consistent product on the court. No telling what's going through his mind right now.

Can't trade him if that knee won't heal. Ty Lue looked nervous as hell. He was more composed when we lost both opening games and was down 2-0 to the Mavs in the playoffs two years ago. They're hiding info and praying they won't have to leak it out to the media and public

This season is looking pretty bleak already. Not worried about the losses atm but the prospect of Kawhi sitting this season out is deflating.

These losses could have us in the play in game if we're not careful

One thing that stuck out to me was Skip Bayless said on his show a few days ago that his "sources" said that Kawhi's knee isn't close to being right, and that the surgery didn't go well... I know its "sauces", but I think he was the only one who said that Kawhi needed surgery when he got injured, while the team kept saying he might be available. Might be that same source that was right the last time...

Skip freaking Bayless has more credibility than our medical/training staff. Let that sink in. :banghead:

Steve Ballmer’s tenure is supposed to be a tenure where we are doing everything first class and on the up and up.

It is so Sterling Clippers to have a botched ACL surgery. This just can’t happen if we are turning the corner.
There’s no way this should have been botched in 2021 with today’s technology and doctors.

They say it's the knee but are we sure it's not problem he had with the Spurs?

As frustrating as it is right now I’m not sure I’m going to trust Skip Bayless.

Leonard’s group is small and tight lipped. It makes no sense his camp would leak his knee isn’t right. Unless they think the Clippers are trying to trade him. But it’s been the exact opposite from Leonard. He’s talked about how nice it is to have the team and organization behind him when it comes to his health and how to manage it.

If the Clippers hope to ever trade him it makes no sense for them to leak it.

All along it’s been nothing but positive comments about how his rehab has gone and how he looks in practices, etc…

He’s played 2 pre season games, open practice, and 2 regular season games. He’s looked healthy and pretty good outside some rust and timing. If he’d looked like crap it might make sense the knee was shot.

The timing of Skips comments seem off no? Where were these concerns and sources before the time off?

Not saying there isn’t concern but the surgery didn’t go well and the knee isn’t right? 16 months later you reveal that? Weird to me.

Ty Lue saids his status is "day-to-day". I'll take it with a grain of pepper.

we have no way of knowing if that is the case- there is a lot of speculation

That sound you hear is our window closing. With how our joke of a medical staff operates, I doubt we'll be seeing him play again this season.

His value will continue to decline everyday. We can't get a multi FRP haul for him, all we should look for a borderline all-star and rotation players maybe a FRP. But yeah, we should trade him as soon as we can. If we are a team with championship aspirations, we can't let one player decide our future. He we already gave up 5 FRPs to get him and PG, and have one WCF appearance to show for.

A lot of people are giving up on Kawhi. 16 months and counting for an injury most players come back from in 9--and a history of [alleged] malingering well before that.

Now he's skipping the road trip--not even there in street clothes. Twitter savaged him last night when it was announced.
