Kirk is making me eat a lot of crow

As a Vikings fan, I don't think we're THAT good. They feel more like a 4-3 team to me than legit 6-1. Won some coin flips, caught some breaks (playing MIA's 3rd-string QB), etc. Today was a lot better but even then they still managed to let the Cards hang around until the end despite outplaying them by a decent margin. Not complaining at all, just trying to be realistic. Buffalo / Dallas next two weeks is going to be a huge, huge test. If we win one of them I'll be thrilled.

Cousins pretty much is what he is at this point: a C-plus / B-minus quarterback who is too inconsistent to be truly good. We could have it a LOT worse, and have, but you still have no idea what you're going to get from drive to drive.

i also think there is some smoke and mirrors with this vikings team. although at some point you are what your record says you are, but i don't know what that point is - maybe we're not there yet

i'll give kirk a B

We're going to find out a lot in the next two weeks.

Side note: This f'ing shocked me, but Garrett Bradbury ranks in the top 7 among centers in both run block and pass block success rate after being one of the worst in the league the past three seasons, not getting his option picked up and nearly losing his job in preseason. Just stunning. And I guess from what somebody said on reddit -- I pretty much just watch the games anymore so details like this have to fall into my lap -- it's all down to using his hands better. Football technique is fascinating.

Also, Za'Darius Smith is tied for the league lead in sacks and second in TFLs while still counting twice as much against Green Bay's cap as ours 8-)
