I used to say this a lot during the Lob City era. Have a mean streak; get rough; take the techs, flagrants and ejections; whatever it takes to get the win. Know when it's time to say "I've had enough!" and channel your frustrations into an inspired performance.
Some players are playing nice. Not because they want to look pretty, but they fear more for the repercussions that come with playing villain basketball. Yes, the Clippers want to be the Good Samaritan Spurs, model citizens who play for the good of basketball and not be egotistical, going solo, or being a distraction. But at some point, being nice can only take you so far. The Spurs know how to balance niceness with toughness; Clippers have not.
So if they keep losing games as Spurs, maybe be like the Bad Boy Detroit Pistons that Ballmer used to enjoy.
