Re: Spirit of Atlanta
To more than one generation of Hawks fans, he defined the franchise in ways that are largely forgotten today.

It boggles the mind that these two even know each other --

Re: Spirit of Atlanta
I remember watching this game in real time, thinking the hometown kid was about to carry this franchise to new heights.
Spoiler Alert: He didn't. This game was just a blip on the radar as we wouldn't make the playoffs again for 6 more seasons.

Re: Spirit of Atlanta
Oh well he had to come to Atl to crack the all-star team, as the west was deep in fowards.
Where the offseason has more buzz happens.

Re: Spirit of Atlanta
These will always be my Atlanta Hawks.
The team built around Mutombo, Steve Smith and Mookie Blaylock with Eldridge as backup G. They were a steady, consistent, boring group of adults who always settled in as 4th or 5th playoff seed and regularly lost in the 1st round of the postseason.
Man, those were the days.

Re: Spirit of Atlanta
I'm mostly just surprised there are that many tweets about the Hawks in general...
