Prediction for the future

Post#1 » by NetsWorld » Wed Nov 2, 2022 7:18 pm

With all the hoopla going on around this team which the media is so happy to report and wants to destroy this franchise from the inside out, I wanted to make a thread about future predictions after this season. I think that Kyrie won't be returning and will most likely be signed and traded, to where is the question, and I say S&T because he wants his max money, I also think KD gets traded for a plethora of picks and other tradeable assets. Joe will be an expiring as will Patty Mills; with all that being said, Marks is going to be position this team for the 2024 and 2025 free agencies. With Udoka on board here, I don't expect a full blown rebuild for three straight years but rather one season before Nets try to get their feet wet in contention territory again. I predict players like JB will be coming here and potentially even Ingram. And the Udoka signing gives me hope that the team has no plans on a long term rebuild but rather a short term 1-2 year rebuild. The days of rebuilding for five years are long gone and will not be missed.

I don't think Kyrie is going to find a max deal out there for him, sign & trade or not.

Clownshow aside....

I feel Kd will not finsih his contract with us. Whether that means he departs this season or the following offseason(or 2). Just a hunch unless we completely turn it around.

Kyrie may not be playing bball after this season at all, no organization is touching him after this. And he won't play for cheap either.

So what am I looking at?

Praying Philly misses the playoffs and strikes gold in the lottery to help us. We may need to go into full rebuild, we have nothing going on nor on the pipeline of this team. We could really look into 3-4 years before we're somewhat competitive.

I can Ben being held on for 2 years before calling it quits on him unless he returns to imagination form?

It would take a out of this world type trade to make this team decent.... i don't believe the horses are there yet.

Now unless the presume HC in Udoka really makes an immediate impact, we may be sitting this one out.

The moves we made in the offseason made it clear KD wouldn't be here for 4 years. Everybody but KD, Simmons & last year's rookies have contracts that end by the summer of 2024. 2024 could be a great FA class barring a lot of early extensions. 2025 will have Donovan Mitchell & a likely cap spike due to the new TV deal. Everything Marks has done has been setting the team up for a pivot & max space in FA.

Agreed, that's how I look at it. Kyrie is as good as gone after this year, if not via trade, KD most likely gets traded and will be 35 next year. I would definitely target Mitchell/Brown come 24/25. Hopefully we build a more balanced team then.

It's inevitable , what should we ask for in return for KD?
