As far as his maturity and "feel for the game" absolutely. We're also spoiled in the last 5-10 years where, thanks to the explosion of offense, guys are putting up historic numbers relatively "easily."

Well that’s good to hear on the “feel”. I felt his game was more robotic in the past but he has made strides these last few years in that regard. I haven’t seen him much this year but it’s nice to see him get less of those silly charge fouls and play more in control with more finesse.

Yeah, 2022 Gianni in comparison with 2019 Gianni is noticeably more patient and cerebral and does not get nearly as rushed or flustered when he gets doubled/tripled. He's always been a good and willing passer, but his anticipatory playmaking has greatly improved even since his first MVP season. Also helps having both roster and coaching continuity for nearly five years. His numbers will level out a bit once Middleton and Connaughton are back in the lineup, but he's been trying his best to get his teammates involved early and "take over" when he feels he needs to (hence his 20 ppg in second halves).

6 Games or 7% of the year it’s still Giannis and he widened the gap over Tatum and Luka by winning games.

Luka is on fire but the Ls hurt-

Tatum is on fire but Giannis is just being next level-

Mitchell deserves some love but he won’t get it because it’s year one - do this next year and we will see

Ja gonna get some votes but not many first place over Giannis and Luka or Tatum

Booker came in ahead of Luka last year but as well as he is playing...people are going to hold the playoffs against him

Jokic still the best player on planet earth IMO but his numbers off

Btw- don’t they vote for MVP at like game 70?

Giannis was 9 points away in the first game of the season against the Sixers from doing it too. He scored +30 in the next 6 games. I'm surpriced Kobe or Houston Harden didn't do that before.

Luka is my guy but I'd be stunned if he averaged 35/game for the whole season.

Siakam is top 5 in the MVP race.

Averaging 26/10/8 with great defense on one of the best teams in the league.

Solid list. I'd put Tatum in tier 1 and Mitchell in tier 2.

It's because of their team's records(6-1 vs 4-3). Tatum also lost twice from Mitchell already.
Luka gets into the 1st tier despite his record because his stats are too good.

Oh my bad, I was under the impression that Cavs and Celts split their back to back. In that case, yeah Mitchell gets the edge over Tatum. 6-1 with Garland missing almost every game is very impressive.

Seems to me the DPOY for Giannis is a solid bet.
He seems more engaged than before on that end?

With Lopez healthy and helping to anchor rim-protection, it's allowing Gianni to roam all over the court and help create havoc in the passing lanes and on rotations. The Bucks are finally incorporating an emphasis on staying home to 3pt shooters and not over-helping in the lane, which has paid dividends. That being said, they've also played Houston and Detroit twice; albeit both teams looking promising for the future.

More a scheme tweak plus Lopez. It's Lopez who should actually be getting the DPOY love though Giannis will garner it.

Donovan Mitchell (remember posters said Jaylen Brown is better?) and Pascal Siakam have been ballin and should be given consideration. I still have Giannis and Luka as the favorites though.
