I think you're being pretty naive.
Pop only knows what he's told? Really?
What makes you think Pop is psychic? I’ve heard a lot of things about him, but never that.
People only know what they’re told, including Pop.
It’s naive to suppose a person must automatically know things because of his status, like a child’s early belief that his parents know everything.
Pop’s legendary status, and the Spurs’ reputation, would have been all the more reason for the lower level people to keep it to themselves, as long as they thought they could handle it.
You want a simple, solid, human reason why Pop wouldn’t know?
They didn’t want to upset him.
People only know what they’re told. It’s possible to take advantage of that, either with good motives, or bad ones. Happens all the time.
… He has 20-30 years of history of being closely involved with all his players personally since he has been there. …
Absolute rubbish. That is some kind of superstitious foolishness. For one simple fact, there aren’t enough hours in the day for that to be true.
Pop isn’t Santa Claus. He does not supernaturally know who’s been good or bad.
Like I said, maybe she was instructed to report to Wright but he obviously didn't tell anyone? …
Who do you think she should have reported the incidents to, if not the GM?
At that time, should she have known something about Wright that should have led her to bypass him? What should she have known about him (at that time?)
Wright did tell people. Eventually. He told the head of HR, and the head of Spurs legal. I believe it was - somebody in the Spurs legal department, anyway.
You seem unfamiliar with the basic facts (or at least what’s been reported - the ultimate facts aren’t nailed down yet.)
Like I also said, she is a psychologist. She isn't stupid. After it happening once or twice without Wright doing anything, …
That isn’t what happened. Or at least, that isn’t what’s been reported.
Also, I cannot imagine that if there was a team psychologist involved with his players, that Pop would want to be totally oblivious to whatever outcomes she might find. …
You imagine Pop supernaturally knows everything he wants to know. That is not the case. He relies on people, like the GM, the head of HR, and the Spurs legal department, to tell him things. If they don’t tell him, he doesn’t know.
... Why even have a team psychologist at all …
Perhaps you could write a letter of complaint to the Spurs that they hired one.
You seem to be blowing off the fact …
You seem to be blowing off most of the facts that have been reported, in addition to the fact that Pop isn’t Santa Claus.
… it happened 9 times.
Yes, so the complaint alleges, I believe. If so, she had amazing fortitude, and the patience of a saint. Such people are not impossible to find, but they are extremely rare.
If I had a co-worker or a manager that I reported to on my job and I told them something more than once and they just blew it off …
Wright first told her he’d deal with it, and later told her he’d talk to the Spurs legal department, which he did. It gave her the impression that serious action was being taken. Was she supposed to know otherwise at that time? Is she now the one who’s supposed to be psychic?
... This was a gigantic problem that could possibly set the franchise back for years to come. Not to mention one of the players they are responsible for has a major mental issue. I highly doubt that she didn't understand this.
You’ve put the focus on the wrong person. The question is whether the Spurs GM, the head of HR, and the Spurs legal department understood that. By current appearances, they did not understand it, and it has bitten them hard enough that the tooth marks will show for a long time.
Pop knows everything about all his players …
Oh puhleeze. Are you just trying to force me to write lmao?
