Gotcha. I would argue he is a current NBA All Star and still playing. Carry on.

NFL= Not For Long ... Carrying on Kendrick Perkins

He is really good. And unique compared to a lot of players in the league with his combination of relatively tiny wingspan and huge biceps.

He surprised the hell out of me the first time I saw him play, but 2nd best shooter ever? I don't know, maybe. It depends if his career goes more Reddick/Seth or Dame/Steph. I find the former more likely, so I'm gonna say no.

Overall I think he's much more dynamic then Seth/Reddick as he's great in the catch and shoot , off screens and iso/pull ups.

It's only a matter of time before people get with it and realise how special he is

Yep. He uses his bulk and strength to get to the rim and mid range. He’s extremely underrated and has been the Grizzlies second best offensive option since just before mid season last year.
When he gets an open spot up look it’s cash, same as a pull up on transition.
He plays with a TON of confidence as well. If you watch some of the scuffles the Grizz got in last year it’s usually him talking shat to the other bench.
I’ve said his emergence has lifted the Grizzlies ceiling a full tier or two since being drafted. He’s perfect offensive pairing with Ja and can get away with him on defense with JJJ lurking

Joe Harris and Seth Curry might have something to say about best shooter.

There needs to be a rule that you can't be numbered amongst the best shooters of all time unless you were a star player at the very least. You should need to qualify by being a star player first.

His age and wingspan really deterred teams from nabbing him as FRP tend to be selected on the focus of their potential rather than actual talent.

Teams love them a young tall, long wingspan athletic freak, Bane is basically the opposite lol. He's a special player though, if Morant is a true #1 option then Grizz should eventually go deep in the playoffs with Bane as the #2, he's that good at this point.

If you are only looking at star players then we aren't talking about the best shooter.

Not true. Jerry West, Larry Bird, Reggie Miller, Ray Allen, Steph Curry, and Klay Thompson are normally the historical conversation when it comes to the best shooters of all time. When you keep the standards close to that then it makes sense. Another category for great shooting role players should be opened up for guys like Bane.

I mean we have a top 75 guy still adding to his resume in Lowry so yes, anyone playing right now very well might be an all time great.

Until the second they're not playing the league then they're **** and the current players playing who are all time greats.

He's putting up 24PPG on 17.9 shots to go along with 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

Is he a star on the par of Ja? No, but there's also no one that's close to Bane's impact right now on that team other than Ja. I can give you all the stats/advance stats to back it up.

Also if you say JJJ, he's extremely overrated, especially offensively.

Basically Bane is head and shoulders the 2nd best player on that team. He's basically in the Klay role but is outproducing what Klay has done thus far (RS wise).

Essentially you are heavily underrating him.

Now what determines stardom or lack thereof, his ppg average over the first eight regular season games of this season or the three single digit scoring efforts he had against the Warriors this past post season? You can't become a star due to 8 regular season games, especially after not rising above the level of a role player when it really counts the most in the playoffs. Tyrese Maxey actually shows signs of being a star player. He INCREASED his level of play in the playoffs and actually puts up bigger numbers whenever Embiid and/or Harden are out.

Op with an unhealthy obsession of Bane as the one who got away, dwelling on the drafting of scrub Flynn instead. To answer the question, when all is said and done, Desmond Bane will likely be the greatest shooter, no, the greatest player the NBA has ever seen and all Raptors fans should talk about nothing else for eternity.

Yeah, I under-estimated him. Only saw him in the playoffs last year and even then he was good. Went back and watched some of him this year.. he's really good. Definitely more than a Reddick or Seth, much more like a rich man's McCollum.
