KAT's under contract for 6/$228mm. Is he a designated Rose player that we'd be prevented from obtaining due to Giannis? I don't think so, since this is Giannis 3rd contract.

Also Bill Simmons dropping the "AD possibly available" piece.

Bucks should kick the tires on both. Middleton really our only asset though. And I'm not sure I want to mess with this chemistry. Middleton is our only missing piece at the moment.

You can have 2 designated vets and we've only got one. I still think Minnesota turns it around and wins 50+, personally, but if they're thinking about major moves this quickly, I'd consider them stupid enough to approach.

KAT can't be traded until this summer because he signed an extension.

I think he definitely gets moved when eligible though. Really interesting guy to guage his trade value because lots of good and lots of not so good about him as a player and top guy.

Kyrie and Simmons for AD and Russ seem like where the world is headed. Didn't trade check.. Just seeing the moving parts. Bless Darvin Ham's heart to put up with that.

Could easily imagine the Nets wanting to get out of the Simmons business already.

Lakers have the Klutch connection but AD would be a steep price to pay for a guy who could become an albatross.

Imagine Davis' trade value has been going down the toilet too. But you'd think they could get some solid young cheap role players at least.

An AD trade is fun for the media to talk about and if it was a normal franchise it would be in the table but with the whole Klutch/Lakers thing I can't see it actually happening unless AD wants out. Hell he could probably get Klutch is some hot water with the tampering he knows about. Plus good luck getting more high profile clients if they hang him out to dry.

LOS ANGELES -- Anthony Davis attempted just two shots in the second half of the Lakers' 114-100 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday, dropping Los Angeles to 2-7 on the season.

"Obviously, it starts with AD and getting him more touches," LeBron James said afterward. "Our focal point is and always should be to make sure he touches the ball throughout the course of possessions, quarters, halves."

Davis was 4-for-5 from the field in the first quarter as the Lakers outscored an opponent (36-30) in the opening frame for the first time all season. Then Davis was just 1-for-2 in the second half as the Lakers scored 36 points in the third and fourth quarters combined.

There were differing perspectives offered on whose responsibility it is to involve the talented big man more: his teammates, his coaches or Davis himself.

"I don't know whose primary job it is, to be honest," said Russell Westbrook, who finished with 19 points, 10 assists and seven turnovers as the Lakers' primary ball handler with the second unit. "I'll leave it up to the coaches to figure out the best way for them to utilize him.

"When I'm in, I do the best job I can in making reads, try to make the game easier for him when I'm in."

Lakers coach Darvin Ham put the onus on the players: "These guys are not rookies." Ham essentially explained that the veterans on his team have free reign to course-correct as they deem fit -- Davis included.

"We have a playbook. We have a menu and a bunch of sets where AD can be featured," Ham said. "You have to just be organized."

Games of interest tonight:

Suns at Sixers

Blazers at Heat

Celtics at Grizzlies

Nets at Mavs
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

It's hard to believe that Durant hasn't quietly requested a trade again by now.

He’s prob doing it in private this time. The Nets aren’t going to trade him until they’re willing to give up on the dream of contending though.

He's the future of that franchise, so if he's already acting like a diva over how the offense is run, then that's really concerning. KAT is the guy who needs to be saved from Minnesota. I just wish we had the assets to go get him....
Yeah but have you seen how they play? Edwards is their best player, and he's standing there waiting for the d'angelos of the world to do their thing. And when he gets the ball and tries to do his thing, which is getting to the paint, he bumps into 2 seven footers (and their defenders) because his team's strategy is to be the Ralph Sampson rockets.

I legitimately think they saw the Bucks win a title with Giannis and Brook and thought “two 7footers can work to win a title”. KAT can space the floor like Brook, problem is Gobert can’t create shots for himself or his teammates and has negative gravity on offense so that’s where the concept falls apart.

There is probably a way to make their offense work with four out and one in, stashing Gobert in the dunker spot for drop offs. But then you’re turning KAT into exclusively a catch and shoot guy which is not the best use of his talents.
