Nolan Winter's teammate. Lakeville North is basically Wisconsin North at this point.

Robinson filling in the gap left when Davidson departed. The circle will not be broken.imo
ETA: The circle will be broken for the next two years. My point stands.

They have at least 4 scholarship spots still left for 2024.
It could be the biggest, strongest class UW ever gets.... especially if they sign a combination of the instate guys and/or the few top minnesota recruits remaining. JT Rock wouldnt be a bad get as well.

I don't follow this a ton, but it seems like Rock is kinda out of the picture.
With Gus, Winter, Robison (a wing, but still counts in small lineup world), and Hodges/Ilver still around, I think they're kinda done with the frontcourt.

We'll have to settle for the inverse Jim Leonard.

They'd make room for Parham in a heart beat.
Knueppel and Janowski fit the combo guardish / wing spots so they should be still live. I could see them not being in on McAndrew anymore, but he's still a talented big (you never know with the transfer portal).
Freitag is likely their dream get, dont think it will happen.

I think you're probably right about Freitag. Badgers are in good shape with him now, but his trajectory is pushing him up to the bluebloods. Different player than Chucky, but would be on the floor immediately the day he walks on campus.

I think I'm a bit bullish this year on the team vs. Media/Coaches expectations as well as even the preseason KenPom sort of stuff. That's probably a bad sign. Other than defending Gard when things were down, I'm not the high confidence guy.

Yea and after winning last year that was a bit fluky to the good side it makes me think a correction to the mean is coming. Plus, lost essentially the only two guys who could make a shot from last year's team. Of course, others are going to improve and step up. But I'd guess bubble team this year so a middle of the pack B1G team, which should be slightly better than what the predictions are giving them. So, more or less same guess as you. Not really in contention for the conference at any point, but also not bottom 5 of the conf either like predicted. I ended up deciding to go the game tonight, we'll see. I hope to be surprised.
One small positive prediction I'd make is the other Davis is a solid contributing player this year.
ETA: Yea after reading the next post, my phrasing is probably bad as a middle of the pack B1G team is likely a safe tourney team, not bubble. Off the top of my head, when I ran through schedule a few days ago I thought non-conf was much easier than past so as long as they don't suck and just rack up the supposed easy wins they should be ok

Re: Wisconsin Badgers Thread
Eh, I'm kinda saying I think they may be better than that. Maybe a safe tournament team. I'm buying the hype on Essegian and think Chucky taking over with Wahl/Crowl is going to be enough.
Not a 2 seed or anything, but I have some slightly higher expectations.
Just saying that because I finally feel like the pundits and metrics are wrong, that may be a bad sign that they finally don't meet expectations, if that makes any stupid sense haha.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers Thread
I was worried that after Davison left there would be no one to dislike on the team but Max Klesmit is proving that theory wrong.

Once fans get used to seeing him, there will be gasps of anticipation each time he squares up. Bohannon is probably the best comparison at the moment, but Essegian's release is something else.
Potroykus is bullish on him lest you think I'm gassing him up without cause.

Re: Wisconsin Badgers Thread
Yea Essegian sure looked legit to me on his stroke and confidence, no hesitation pure gunner. Something they've sorely missed. Hopefully he can hold his own on the other end. I'm guessing you're gonna see a bunch of Herro comps just because it's easy, which I get, but the way he ran around off ball and some of mannerism type things in his movements were way more Korver-esque.
Obviously it's one game vs a small school, but some positive signs from him and a few others to actually be shooting quickly and confidently with good looking shots. Crowl and Hepburns shots looked smoother, Hepburn's elbow not sticking way out so hopefully his shot improves noticeably this year. Seeing the davison comps to the klesmit I was worried he'd just be a scrapper hustler but seems to be competent at offense/shooting too. IDK from the offensive end I guess you couldn't have asked for much more positives in a game like this
