Can’t go wrong with either. Surprised the poll is this lopsided.

The GOAT effect. Not really surprising.

Re: Starting a Team: Curry/Kareem vs Jordan/Giannis
Interesting comparison. I think the fit in the modern league is better with Kareem, but it's really hard to deny the idea of Giannis and Jordan, esp 90s Jordan and that nasty J/mid-range game. At some point, too, you just look at Giannis and go "daaaaaaayum."
I voted for Steph and Kareem, but realistically, it's probably MJ/Giannis. I just love the idea of opening up Kareem inside with Steph's gravity and having a dude who can stick a 50/50 shot that basically no one can ever block. He'd still be a very efficient option in today's league, particularly since he didn't really do a lot of lengthy back-down possessions , moving quickly into his shots a lot. And he developed some range. Not like 3pt range, but he could stick foul line jumpers in his actual career, so maybe he could pull an Embiid and at least be competent from 3 in today's game, maybe not. Still worth exploring.

This poll result surprises me. Regardless of how ATG both Jordan & Giannis are, I'm surprised so many people would rather build around 2 bad 3 point shooters in today's era.

When it's this close, I always go with the GOAT, so Curry/Kareem for me.

Either duo could adapt to whichever era, I feel. I'd be ecstatic having a team with either of these duos. Besides, I don't think teams would ask Kareem to drain corner threes (or maybe they would?) if he's hitting a dozen hook-shots/floaters a game.

I think this is a case of a clear but not large edge.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

I second this when it is close but the GOAT is MJ. Thus MJ and Giannis especially since MJ never lost with HCA. Kareem did so 5x.
