I think Ben is absolutely committed defensively and to create for others. However, he is deathly afraid to draw contact and thats going to be an issue the longer the season goes along.
People make jokes, but after watching him play, I 100% believe that he is suffering from mental health issues. It's like he has some type of agoraphobia when it comes to getting fouled and having to make FTs.
If you've developed agoraphobia, situations that were once routine to a person can become stressful, anxiety induced events that can leave you broken. He needs to be in treatment with a sports psychologist if he isn't already. What he does when he gets the ball in the paint is not a normal reaction. That's fear.
Brooklyn has to make a decision, do you gut and start over or fine tune the roster to help this team win? There is enough turmoil already with Kyrie so if we have to deal with Simmons mental issues, the Nets are gonna suffer another setback. This has been an abysmal two years to say the least.
yea we're ina pickle right now, I'm torn IDK what we should do either. But looking around the league, this might be the last year we have a chance to win. Last years champions GS looks washed, Lakers is done, Clippers don't seem right, Miami looks like their window closed, nobody is scared of the Sixers. The teams we must over come is Boston, Bucks and Cavs. Not saying that's a easy task but we have a small chance. And the way the team has been playing with a boost of energy since Nash is gone, we're not looking too bad.
We just need Kyrie to get with the darn program and invest some energy. Our defense has looked good but our offense is stagnant, and this where we need Kyrie. Also Joe, Seph and Patty should start hitting their shots sooner than later. And last but not least we need Ben to at least be half the player he once was, at least half. I think we have a small shot, I wouldn't blow it up just yet. I guess we can wait to the trade deadline. Hopefully Warren can come back and contribute, and we need to trade one of Seth, Patty, Joe Harris for a 2 way player and/or a big. It's a lot to ask but I think the right coach can come in and help. Vaugh is not even a great coach but he is a coach nonetheless and we're looking alot better.
Unless miracles happen & this team looks unstoppable, you blow it up at the trade deadline. It's hard to imagine a team comes forward with a great offer before the deadline, especially since there's many players that can't be moved until December or January. Anything short of looking unstoppable, you rebuild. One injury to KD and we're toast. Kyrie & Ben are not reliable enough to ride things out with relatively long Championship odds.
