Killian is getting the easiest, most open looks in the NBA right now.

Lets take a look at this graphic, for "Isolation efficiency"

The higher up, the more efficient the player is in isolation points per possession. The further right, the more difficult/guarded the shots are. The further left the more wide open/easy those shots are. Killian is getting the easiest shots out of anyone in the entire NBA right now and missing them and that also means, as we all know, that defenses are focusing on the other 4 guys and letting Killian have his (and he still isn't converting.

Impressive position for Banchero, who looks like the likely runaway ROY right now. Haliburton also super impressive, with the third highest ISO efficiency in the entire league and overall he's making harder shots than most players have to make.

I can't tell from this whether the openness is measured from the point he receives the ball or the point at which he actually decides to shoot it.

For a normal nba player these would be very similar and the difference wouldn't be worth noting. But when Killian catches the ball he always sits there for a moment before he remembers/forces himself to take the action to shoot the basketball. By that time the defense has closed the gap and what was once an wide open look now becomes an awkward heave or closely guarded drive. It becomes much a more difficult attempt than it should have been.

I want to clearly state that this in no way is an excuse for Killian. The guy needs to learn to just shoot the damn ball / be instantly decisive when the ball arrives. This shouldn't be a problem for a guy at this level.

Even in this latest game there was a point in the first half where you could make out Killian telling himself that he should have shot the basketball when he passed it. He knows it's a problem but yet he still does it....

Honestly I think we are at a point where it's not even worth discussing Killian Hayes anymore. He is bad, he had plenty of opportunities and he is not a NBA caliber player. He shouldn't be playing any more minutes.

Jaylen Brown really sucking it up as an iso player is interesting.

He sticks out hard in this as well. He is scoring 25 PPG but his efficiency has been down this season. 34% from three is mostly fine ( a little below average) but he's been much worse inside than previous years.

Wait, there's still hope. Killian Hayes is almost comparable to Jabari Smith and Jalen Green and Jordan Poole (after he was punched by Draymond)

On the bright side, Bojan is a top 15 offensive player in the league.

Booker
Lillard
Trae
Harden
Siakam
Mitchell
SGA
Ja
Jokic
Giannis
KD
Tatum
Luka
Curry

Those are the guys better than him. His defense is awful tho, only Trae is worse in that group.

Well that’s really good; obviously you want to have all your players have the best looks possible.

Hesitation and indecisiveness is definitely half of Kill's problem. He's got the mechanics for a decent enough shot when he shoots with confidence (as shown against the Celtics).

Man, from that graph, though, why aren't the Sixers any good?
