Honestly the most impressive part is not that he's already established himself as the 8th man but frankly that he's still not getting as many minutes as he should.

Plus he's pretty much single-handedly retired the "we need to add a backup wing scorer" topic.

Watching Sam tonight side by side with Bogdanovich……whose to say he can’t be that kind of player?
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Raised and played ball most of his life in Wisconsin. Imagine if the Bucks got a hold of him instead of us (Brad). He's exactly the type of player they could use. Like a young Kyle Korver, who incidentally became a decent defender as his career progressed. His size certainly helps. Something that works to the disadvantage of PP.

Tatum didn’t score 24+ until his 53rd RS game as a Celtic. Brown not until his 79th.

Sam did it in his 37th game. Are we sure he’s not our best player?

3PM/100 possessions (min. 100 minutes):
Sam Hauser 7.3
Stephen Curry 7.0
Georges Niang 6.9
Bones Hyland 6.6
Kevin Love 6.1
Buddy Hield 5.9
Desmond Bane 5.8
Michael Porter Jr. 5.7
Kevin Huerter 5.6

Adjusted by playing time, Hauser has the biggest volume from behind the arc in the entire league. Arguably a better defender than most guys on that list too.

This is basically a complete list of every hauser defensive possession. Judge for yourselves

I skimmed these but I still see a guy that is figuring it out. I think overall his positioning is good and he's not getting blown by a lot of guys like he's standing still. I think it will continue to improve he seems to really understand his role and what he needs to do to get minutes.

This is the biggest point not being made right here. Backup wing has been a huge need for this team and I think we have found it. His volume is increasing and %'s are remaining the same. He's not out there just taking two 3's in a game.

He's done great. Not shocked. His touch is amazing. Still feel as if we should've retained Ryan instead of signing Griffin. At least Ryan is a sharp-shooter and much younger. Blake is washed.

Oh and I love how quickly Hauser shoots... He doesn't even bring the ball down, catch it and go straight into a shooting motion. His feet are already set. Sign of a real shooter.
Good assessment:

He is very consistent with his effort and engagement level. Doesn't give up on plays at that end when he gets beat.

He's gotta bulk up a little to have Bogdanovic's frame. But other than that, I don't see why not. Bogdanovic peaked as a 18-20 PPG scorer - that's a good ceiling..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Clearly Brad felt like we needed another big, rather than needing another wing. Ryan would just be rotting on the bench here. Instead, we got Griffin, who was part of a training camp competition to see who'd be getting consistent mins as the backup big man with Rob out..

FlatearthZorro wrote:Blake is washed.

I don't know how you can say that. He's barely played so far this season. When he has played, he's been decent - especially for a guy getting acclimated to a new team. Let's actually see him log more than 8 mins in consecutive games before saying stuff like this, jeez..
