NeverI still have a completely unsupported view that Nesmith (and NAW) would be great for us
The overall disgust for the Magic’s inability to fill their shooting guard slot with a talented young player over the years has led to some hilarious inappropriate propping up of guys like NAW, Nesmith and Bouknight over the last few drafts
I'm was always out on Bouknight

Can we also talk about Franz's impressive layup package? It's vast, efficient, and very effective. Feels like he's one of the best finishers in the league.

Nice win in the end and good to see doing with defence after struggling a lot on that end lately. But pretty weird game overall, we played good D in the last quarter, but we were also helped by Dallas playing idiotic basketball. Mosley's decision to mostly stick with the bench proved the right one. Franz's drives continue to be beautiful and effective. Bol hit a few threes, a very good sign. Very solid game by Suggs on both end. Ross actually hustled on D and this was key in the end.
The first quarter were so weird, we shot great from 2 (61%) yet only scored 24 points because there we made so many turnovers and we made no 3s and barely attempted one. But after that we took more 3s and made a decent amount of them. Still, the offense overall wasn't good, but did enough for the win. Too many turnovers though, a lot of which really dumb ones.

I’ve been waiting forever for the Magic to get a finisher like Franz.

I am Banchero biggest fan but he is still a rookie and he is still lost on defense regularly. I think its not a coincidence we have our best defensive performance without him( and second worst offensively) . Okeke is much better 1vs1, much better in rotations and much better protecting the rim. I think with these teammates and with this coach Banchero has no other way than to get better on this end with time.
Its always great to win against Mavs and Luka. One of the most annoying teams out there.
Good game from Houstan. He is quickly shattering any hope Hampton has left to stick in the rotation long term.
ps. Wagner looks like solid second option to me.

My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

I wouldn’t read to much into it , the defense only seemed
Good because Dallas went cold . I think the schedule change really affected them, any other night the magic would have gotten blow out . A win is a win but don’t mistake that with some
Great defensive performance

Dallas went cold but we were very physical with them. Look at rebounding disparity. We also had some nice stops at the rim. We were also much more disciplined defensively, not fouling. I dont think we have to downplay our defensive effort, we were really good. While Banchero is amazing offensively he is far from even Okeke level on defense.

I try not to read anything into any of these games. It's hopeless.
Just looking for trends, like Franz settling in.

The dude can go left or right and in either scenario shoot with either hand. B-e-a-utiful!
When Fultz get in to the PnRs with him and Banchero, this team will start winning a lot of surprising games.

Glass-half-emtpy: his 3-ball is still a long way off.

Look, winning FG% usually get you the win. But this was essentially a perfect game for Orlando. Awesome offense with sterling defense.
Outstanding.
