Yes. Because you have small 3-4 and Embiid has been a liability on defense when you funnel the defense to him.

The guards also has to play with a big who ROLLS to the basket or else you’re basically just setting up ISO opportunities for Embiid at the Elbow

We need an Al Horford or something.

The only hope is if Doc keeps fumbling around and comes across the right pairing by accident. Other than that it won't happen. If not for Ben holding out, Maxey would still be competing for minutes with kork and shake.

If we lose Saturday to this Hawks team at home Morey better do the right thing and fire Doc

Bring in Udoka. We are a more stable franchise than the Nets are so he wouldn't be a problem

Great analogy.

If Embiid isn’t going to bang like a center, at least play like Carl Malone: tough and decisive around—but not always in—the paint. Instead he tries to lead the break like Giannis and face up dudes with skill, while in reality he’s basically a bumbler with a soft jumper.

Yes sir.

Doesnt it look like Dirk was trying to lead the break when he tries to play like Giannis?

I also posted a Karl Malone clip here, a month ago because Biid just keep popping at the elbows on those PnR. Where I think he needs to have a good balance of popping and rolling like Malone used to do back then.

Joel is turning into a poor man's Nowitski. No desire to bang down low, actively avoids attacking the paint, zero assertion on the glass. His turnovers might be more embarrassing than anything.

Time to stop ignoring these pain points with Embiid. The criticism is justified.

I wouldn’t exactly call us a model a stability lol. Hard pass on that guy until I understand the details of his situation.

Yes. If you can remember the Al-Biid high low play was money. It was even used as our go to action down the stretch. We were even able to best the Bucks at december. The problem there was the guard play.

If we had Maxey and even just this version of Harden, instead of Ben-Jrich, we could make it deep that season.

Right now, Biid is more like Al on defense. While our team likes to think Biid is like Robert Williams.

Paul Reed has low bball IQ. But he ROAMS and is elite in covering the distance, that makes him great as a weak side rim protector and closing out shooters to delay the ball movement for our guys to recover.

Paul Reed as a C, who needs to quarterback the defense is THE problem.

Anyway, I hope Harrell is OK. He did a good job. Be a good soldier.

Like I said, we are a more stable franchise than the Nets. You know that. Besides Sam Cassell, who would you want to coach this team?

It pains me to see so many good, athletic players on a horrible team like Charlotte while I’m here watching Shake Milton every night pretending like we are a championship contender.

Morey..

This is what i feared when we got him.

If you think about it, now that almost every team has upgraded in size. We’re running the microball in context of the 2022-2023 season.

He did wonders with the Celtics last year. At one point the Celtics were struggling next thing they are destroying the Nets and in the NBA finals. Despite his other issues the man can coach. But with that being said I'd like to see Sam get a chance, but that might just be me being sentential.

Unfortunately we aren’t going anywhere deep without Maxey playing at his next level. Maybe Harden does unlock his game but that just means he’s reliant on not being his own creator and facilitator. He’s an ideal shooting guard in that sense. I don’t know what the answer is. We need a backup PG. Melton is not really capable of running an offense either consistently.

We overestimated the roster big time. They are only a play in team, even with Harden. They look like they are just going through the motions. How long is Morey going to allow this to continue?

It isn't even about chemistry and pairing guys.

Anyone who scouted the Hawks by simply looking at the depth chart knew you couldn't play Niang and Tucker. Knew you needed Harrell size on the court.

Yet Niang plays 20M and only in garbage does the light come on that Harrell should have been playing. Like I don't get it. Just done with him like if I as a fan can look at the lineup and see it pregame why can't doc. Why does he insist on going small when we don't have the horses. I mean he pulled the same **** with Pozingis and he dropped 30.

It also gets us into foul trouble because Niang can't defend these guys without fouling. Neither can Tucker tbh. So you are affecting the entire defense even when they are not on the court.

You keep bringing this when it only happened one season and it was to optimize Westbrook.

It's like Morey sign Dwight or put Capela around Harden.

I don't know about his IQ but I do know for the most part he is a disruptive force on defense. And last season when he was allowed to play in games at the end of the season he played well. Give the guy the time and room to thrive and maybe his low basketball ball IQ can improve to average.
