Tsai is already being exposed by the same cats who criticized Kyrie. They know the punishment is extremely harsh and they are trying to emasculate him, hence his demands are getting denounced.
The NBA has had oodles of time to denounce the CCP's various atrocities and genocide, but China's revenue evidently greases so many NBA palms that it's just not going to happen. That's an oversimplification of course, but you get the idea.
Tsai's a bit different in that he's pretty close (or straight-up "is") under the thumb of the CCP. He seems like an upstanding guy to me on the whole, but his leash is incredibly short when it comes to critiquing the CCP. Just look at what happened to his Alibaba cofounder Jack Ma for example.
There's nothing much to 'expose' about Tsai. He's in the same boat as most Chinese Han people. If you've been reading the news during the late dictator Xi period, you'd know that China has been incredibly aggressive around the world in espionage, buying up politicians and even university depts, threatening Chinese peoples' families for speaking out against the CCP and so forth. They've even established 'police departments' in other nations that will detain Chinese 'troublemakers,' and in some cases probably disappear them or smuggle them back to the mainland.
Sh-t is nuts, and it's been in major news for years now..
