Yet he's scared to death to take a three in an NBA game because Dr. Glenn won't let him.

I believe that the truth is almost always in the middle of two opposite sides of the spectrum.

I do think Paul Reed-Harrell is not always playable.

But its more playable than most do think it does. So does the Reed-Embiid duo and maybe even Harrell-Embiid duo

And with the Biid plus stretch 4 who can protect the rim and is not a very good rebounder has failed for the last 4 years, maybe it’s time to look for a new direction. Specially now that its clear that Biid is incapable to anchor the defense.

I think there's some situations defensively where it would make sense to play Reed with Embiid. Might even work offensively if we could get him taking some corner 3s and crashing. He needs a lot of seasoning to be effective in such a role.

I don't really see any good argument for Harrell/Reed on the floor. It's a spacing nightmare offensively and a pretty bad defensive combo since neither is great at defending in space (particularly Harrell).

I think it's tough to fit 2 guys that can't space the floor offensively, which is also why I probably wouldn't want Thybulle and Reed on the floor together either.

I also think it's tough to put 2 defensive liabilities on the floor, particularly when talking about the 4 and 5 positions, which is why I really don't like the Niang/Harrell combo, even if the fit offensively is pretty good with a high end spacer and a quality roll man.

As for previous playoff failings, I'd say that's bad a lot more to do with the offense than the defense.
