LEAST efficient ISOs among qualifying players:
1. Jrue Holiday: 0.53 ppp
2. McCollum: 0.57
3. Randle: 0.58
4. Maxey: 0.59
5. Herro: 0.65

Not surprising. He's much like McCollum in that he's not an ISO player (at least not yet). He has the speed, but his handles are pretty basic.

I’ve never thought of that comparison until you’ve mentioned it. He’s a lot like CJ.

Re: Quick stat snapshot of where the Sixers are after 3 games
Yep, Maxey , atleast now, can only score being faster than everybody else or with catch and shoot 3s. I thought he would use his dribble more this year, and shoot off the dribble iso 3s. Maybe next year.. If he cant develop better handles he´s pretty Maxed out ( no pun intended lol).. He´s still a pretty good player, but he needs harden to feed him easy shots.

Re: Quick stat snapshot of where the Sixers are after 3 games
I think part of the problem for Maxey is that his jumper is a bit slow with a low release point. Makes it tough to leverage his shooting against space 1v1.
What are the odds that Michael Foster sees real minutes by the end of the year? His development seems to be happening fast and we need size/athleticism up front.

Sell Maxey for a real star as fast as you can.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:
Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Watford/Barlow/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

I'm keeping Maxey for no other reason than he's extremely likable which is the hardest trait to have as a star in the NBA.

As usual it depends on what kind of player or package you can get, but he is definitely a sell-high-when-you-can player, his ball handling + shooting profile (low release and not quick) + subpar physical tools, suggest a Maxeyd out player or close to it. It is now a fantastic time to sell. We need better fits around Embiid, get players with better catch and shoot shooting profile, with quicker and higher release point, this won't cut it.

Also, guy went from a barely 30% shooter in college to a 40% in 7 attempts player in 2 years.
If you think that doesn't require some stupid level of work ethic and talent i don't know what to tell you. He's still improving.

TJ Mcconnell was also extremely likable, but you'l get nowhere with that.

We need to put a good package to get Kevin Durant, Maxey will be a central part of it, let's do it baby!

McConnell wasn't a star. Or are you being sarcastic? Can't tell any more.

We collectively complain A LOT about the dogsh*t lineups we make Embiid put up with. Maxey should get the same benefit of the doubt that he’s often surrounded by poor shooters, slow defenders, and no secondary ball handler.

Re: Quick stat snapshot of where the Sixers are after 3 games
My issue with Maxey isn’t how he fits with Embiid, but how he fits with Harden. We will always be a defensive negative if we need to play those two together for long stretches. Better to pair Harden with Melton/Thybulle and find a two-way forward in exchange for Maxey+.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:
Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Watford/Barlow/Walker

I fundamentally hate the idea of trading away a homegrown cost controlled star because he doesn’t fit perfectly with an aging player who, if we’re being honest, has never delivered on the biggest stage. It’s one thing to mortgage the future on LeBron who has proven he can carry you to the Finals vs Harden who can’t.
I also don’t see a team trading us a 2-way forward for Maxey. Those players are the most valuable in the league and basically never get traded unless it’s a weird situation like Kawhi. Trading for KD is a pipe dream because they’re gonna want more picks than we have to offer.

I see where you're coming from, but with our current roster and FO construction, Harden will be picked over Maxey 10/10 times. I think going after Durant may be unrealistic, but worth a shot. If KD wants to come here, it only increases our odds. Teams are not going to want to pony up for a player who prefers to be elsewhere.

Maxey is not a star sorry to burst your bubble. Will he be one in the future? maybe, but most likely no.

It's the same that happened with Ben Simmons. He is not good enough to demand a roster built around him. Embiid is the alpha male lead and 90%+ of the allocation has to go into surrounding him with ideal players.
