GT #14: Grizzlies @ Bullets 6 PM (NBCSW/980 AM)

Post#1 » by FAH1223 » Sun Nov 13, 2022 1:31 am

YOUR Washington Bullets are 7-6!

After two impressive wins against the Mavs and Jazz, the homestand continues against the Grizzlies.

As we all know, last weekend the Grizzlies got out to a 23 point lead but the Bullets came roaring back on a 17-0 run. The Grizzlies ended up winning the game by 6 points, 103-97, and the Bullets couldn't hit a 3 to save their lives.

Will the hot 3-point shooting continue at the friendly confines of Capital One Arena?

Or will Ja Morant bounce back and dominate the Bullets after a lackluster performance last week?

Didn't realize we played tonight, but great. Hope we get to see the young guys get extended play again, though it'll stink if their backcourt is out. I want to see how we play against probably the second or third best backcourt in the league depending on how you rank GS, Portland, and PHX. This season, they're probably the best so far.

Brad was in the building last night. He’s out of protocols. He’s in reconditioning mode.

I knew Bane might not play but wasn’t expecting Ja to be out

Memphis was 20-5 without Ja Morant last season although they were only 5-6 without Desmond Bane. Without both, the Grizzlies were 1-1.

You can be done with Covid without Covid being done with you... might just take him a bit of time to get back to where he was?

Fatigue is a common symptom of Covid and the more recent guidance is a longer recovery (a couple of weeks) before full aerobic and anaerobic workouts) - maybe still experiencing some fatigue either during or after workouts?

Guessing they are just being prudent + taking into account a more difficult bout this time around?

Lots of questions - no answers...

I think it was Chase Hughes on the telecast last night mentioning to Chris Miller that Brad said this bout of COVID hit him harder than the other time(s) he’s had it.

Ja Morant and Bane out. Hmmm this could be the type of news that sets us up for disappointment with how we’ve played the last few games. Memphis is a deep team and Tyus Jones is a quality back up PG.

I have a feeling Adams is gonna maul KP and Gaff of the offensive boards. Need to have multiple bodies on him boxing out.

let’s go Wiz!

2 quick fouls on Adams

Go at him. Foul him out

Porzingis getting Memphis in foul trouble early, has 3-4 fouls against him already. Good start by Deni, hitting his layups. Problem is they already have 3 offensive board; PIF can tell you why those are important, he gave me a good run down last game.

No Beal, Morant or Bane. This would usually be a Wiz loss. A win doesn't mean we're great but you need to beat teams like this even on a back-to-back.

When Porzingis is drawing fouls, we are in a good place

Defense without fouling has been excellent so far by everyone.

Sloppy minute of play cost us an 8-point lead.

And there it goes. Their depth is incredible. Aldama played at Loyola MD. Wes went to Loyola HS. God forbid we trade down to get a guy like that. Or LaRavia. Of course, the run starts with Monte Morris checking in for Goodwin.
