I didnt watch but I wouldn't be surprised if he was fatigue by then. He played 40 mins with high usage , has lost a step athletically and is still getting in game shape.

Let's not forget all the injuries Embiid got, it's a miracle how good he still is despite all that. We've seen Ben Simmons with a back injury and he is already washed up.
Embiid would've been a Top 5 player ever if not for the injuries he got before playing his 1st game and after the 1st season.
So to recap, we are asking a player who has had to endure multiple bad injuries in the most crucial development years (20-23 years old) that also reduced his mobility and athleticism, that he has to carry the whole team, play 40+ minutes and we complain about his effort? add to that the insult that was choosing Bum Simmons over Jimmy Butler, it's no wonder he is already fed up with this team.

Still getting good legs back. He's also trying to coast during the regular season. We always see him bring it during the playoffs giving maximum effort. He is trying to preserve good body but for. Him it's either 150% all the time or he looks like he's not giving a ****. Sucks I know but you should still be able to win 55-60 games with a team that has 2 other 20 ppg scorers.

We always see him bring in the playoffs giving maximum effort?? He shows up to playoff games with zero energy and terrible body language. He did it against Toronto a few years back and then last year against Miami (after he lost the MVP race to Jokic). He's the total opposite of someone like Giannis when it comes to his competitive fire.

Also-- still trying to get in shape while the season is underway is no excuse.

If he's not injured he's been elite during the playoffs, numbers don't lie on that. Unfortunately it rarely happens with the injuries.

Think it's unfair for you to say that with the Miami series. He knew it was going to happen and was playing with a broken face and torn finger. Also Miami had a great defensive adjustment for him. Bigger blame was Harden dissapearing. Let's not forget he was dominant against the Raptors the previous series and caried them. You seem to think we have another option here. If we don't go all the way with him that's it, we're starting over. No trade will get us over the hump. Odd to see you saying this about him when he had a great game today.

We have different standards when it comes to superstar players.

Again, I'm specifically calling out his pitiful effort in the final six minutes of last night's game. I like Embiid and realize he played well, but true leaders don't shut it down in the guts of a close game. He's better than that and it's an issue worthy of criticism and concern.

He's dealing with "multiple injuries" again.

I think it's time to trade him before his value falls significatively.

It won't happen this season, but we should do it next year.

Yeah let's trade the best player we've had since Iverson, just for the sake of trading him, what could go wrong...

Incredible performance from the big guy and off course, we're not trading him

But to be fair, I want to see him take over against the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks ... to really call him an MVP. I already know how great he can be against smaller teams.

On the other hand, I hope Doc understands we cannot win in the play-offs with Embiid playing this type of game.

Tales of Joel Embiid's demise were greatly exaggerated.

You never trade a true superstar and get better. Embiid will be a sixer as long as he wants maybe even longer than he wants unless Morey gets his act together

Joel's 29th 40 and 10 game since 2016/17 season. This game broke yesterday's tie with....................... James Harden during that span.

He did it against the bucks on Christmas day last year and also right before the all-star break.

Not true.

Well see in the Playoffs. This is the last chance i give him to be truly dominant when it matters. If not, ii rather trade him for 5 picks + prospects type of package while i can and start to rebuild strong.

I rather pull an AD like trade just like NO did than keep trying to win with a player who isnt realiable phisically and mentally to be a #1.

Hope Jojo proves me wrong, i always loved his game and potential but he has never put it all together when it matters the most. This is the last season we should wait for it. Hes not a kid anymore and given his injury profile hes going to decline faster than the average player.

Joel is dealing with multiple injuries (ankle, shoulder, conditioning) and is able to put up these stats?? What if he was healthy? :D

Anyway, congrats Joel on this remarkable game. It was a joy to watch!

One thing I noticed this game was how much more assertive he was in establishing his position in the post while wrestling with their defenders. Yes, Markannen is probably not the biggest body, but still a lot of effort by Jo to post up throughout the game. Like to see more of that this season.

Yes we can, you just don't like his style that's all. Let's see, tell me what's the alternative? did you see what type of performance Embiid needed to put to barely win the game? supporting cast sucks, and Harden is washed up, won't be able to score efficiently most of the nights.
