Re: Fultz Suggs Harris Isaac
Just being real honest here, I'm not sure we really have much more than a rotation NBA player with Suggs.
He plays an athletic brand of ball but he isn't a great athlete by NBA standards, either functionally or going by pure athleticism. I believe with him, at the end of the day, he is a guard with subpar shooting, ballhandling and passing skills. He is still okay and I think he can have a decent NBA career. His shooting numbers and turnover rate have improved from a year ago but they were coming from such a low point point in the first place. He is good defensively but the league today is dominated by offense and there have even been rule changes that have enabled offensive play anyhow so I think a guard can have such a limited impact on defense anyways.
I think both Cole and Fultz have more upside long term but with that said, Suggs may still end up being our best point guard going forward because he is learning to defer to our longbois who are more talented. He is the one young guard who is getting minutes playing with our Jumbol lineup and I think that may be more important long term because Franz, Wendell, Paolo and Bol are more talented and will likely be the ones to bring the Magic back to contention.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

Cole seemed relatively subdued and played within the flow of the offense, except the NY game with his family in the stands where he went a little nuts. Small sample size, but it seems like both guards have accepted a reduced role behind Paolo and Franz.

Welt skates on this by ignoring it. They act like a Isaac isn’t even on the team.
He will?
That is my prediction. And there is a substantial amount of evidence to support it. If he comes back, great. But I don't believe we will ever see him in another NBA game.

How bout adding Moe Wagner to the list of absurdities?
He suffered a sprained ankle in early August.
A severe sprained ankle takes 6-12weeks… and he is still nowhere close to returning.
We’re talking about our 3rd string Center.

What did you expect from Suggs coming out of college?
Suggs was never an athletic specimen to begin with.
He was physically strong because of the position he played. He was able to out-strengthen players 0-4 years older than him. And he was playing PG for Gonzaga.
NBA players are a lot quicker and more athletic than him. Especially last year when he was playing the 2 guard. Not to mention some players are like 20years older than him? There’s no way he can out strengthen them.
This year he has shown strides and improvement.
But to expect him to be a star or a superstar coming out of college is exactly Overrating him. He was never projected to be a star, but he was projected to be a guy that can change the culture.

Go ahead and add Paolo to that list, he didn't practice today per reports.

paolo still questionable for today….in addition carter joins the gucci bench gang while he is also listed as questionable for today.
at this point there are more players injured then ready.

Potentially Out: Isaac, G-Harris, Fultz, M-Wagner, Carter, Banchero, Anthony
In: Bamba, Bol, Hampton, Houstan, Okeke, Ross, F-Wagner, Suggs
So it's 7-8. But the Magic is certain to have K-Harris and Schofield suited up.
The depth for the T-Wolves game would be ???
Suggs/Hampton
Ross/K-Harris
F-Wagner/Houstan
Okeke/Schofield
Bamba/Bol
Maybe it's worth not watching this game!
....
When getting M-Wagner back is a difference making roster addition, there is a problem,

Re: Fultz Suggs Harris Isaac
If we had actual media covering this team, I think this would be a fair question to pose to Welt, Hammond or Mos:
“This is the third consecutive year where the Magic have had significantly more games missed due to injury by key rotation players and starters than the rest of the league. Every game it seems like half the roster is out while playing teams at or near full strength. What do you attribute this to? Have you looked at the team’s training and medical methodology? Or is it a function of the types of players you are signing?”
Some posters will say they’re tanking so why ask the question. But that misunderstands the role of the media. They are not part of the team’s PR department.

As someone that is pro-tank, these are very valid questions and fair game for the media to ask. To expect Weltman, Hammond, or Mosely to answer it truthfully is another story. The problem lies in the system we have in place. If a media member grills them on it, they likely won't be given access to the team again. Easy to say 'oh well, do your job' but you're not feeding their kids and paying their bills.

So two things...
Wagner did sprain his ankle playing for Germany in August, but he was healthy and participating in camp for the Magic. He played in every preseason game. He actually got injured again in the preseason finale on October 14th.
Much like Cole Anthony's injury which was originally reported as an oblique strain and then quietly upgraded to a torn oblique after the fact, Moe Wagner's injury was more severe than the initial reports.
Moe's was originally reported as just an ankle sprain, but it was actually a mid-foot sprain.
He is playing tonight, so he will have missed exactly six weeks.

Fultz upgraded to Questionable for tomorrow.
Fultz will have a bigger impact than JI on the Magic.
