I think MJB is our best rookie since Giannis, but I also was super excited about DJ Wilson and Thon Maker at times so I really know nothing. Hopefully this is real and he can give us playoff minutes this year

Bucks finally got Josh Childress, but I think MarJon can be better

Maybe even the Wiggins role we're seeing on Warriors is probably not far off.

Bud playing him with the starters should've been the first clue. Putting his home locker in between Jrue and Gianni's is another. They are invested. And he's taking advantage of his plethora of on-court time.

Yeah, I always liked the pick, but had a pretty low ceiling on him.... 'Maaaaybe one day he is a starter'. I'm at the point where I wonder if he could and SHOULD start over PattyC/Wes come April.

Best thing about MarJon to me? He looks like he’s got a warrior’s mentality, much like Giannis. Love the motor, the humility and how he appears to be wired. What’s upstairs can make a huge difference when projecting how far these kids will go. Love his heart thus far.

I'll freely admit I wasn't a fan of the pick but he's looking great and doing things that look to be translatable throughout the season. I'm fully on board and eating a plate of crow- Go Marj!

Said this about MJB after we drafted him, maybe even in this thread, but his scoring instincts around the rim are a good reason to be optimistic about him long term and set him apart from guys like DJ and Thon who were like jittery and/or pensive. He's got a much better sense for how to use his body and the rim to protect the ball, how to get guys up in the air, how/when to show the ball, and how/when to use the damn backboard. Also his footwork is really rough but it's also apparent he's got a feel for it. He ad-libbed a wrong-footed finish past a defender yesterday when putting the other foot down would have meant a travel.

Also....15.1 PPG on 63.8% TS in the G-league without a reliable 3PT shot should probably have been the first clue that he's not some super limited offensive guy like a lot of the weird comps that people were initially making (Thybulle, Covington).

Yep. This is why I thought a lot of people were missing the boat on him. He has serious two-way potential. If he simply turns out to be a Thybulle/Covington level player I’ll view that as a disappointment.

He was the first draft prospect I started watching last year and I was immediately in love.

From Nehms article this morning

“It kind of reminds me a lot of how it used to be when I was younger,” Antetokounmpo said Monday night. “When I was younger, I remember when I had some good stretches and I heard you guys talk or my teammates talk about me, I felt good about myself, and then I played terrible.

“I hope he can stay humble, and I’m going to try also my best not to talk about him in the media all the time because I know he’s gonna be on Twitter, somewhere. So he’s going to go through his feed and see this. MarJon — stay humble, keep on hooping, playing great. But at the end of the day, it’s not about now, tomorrow, whatever the case might be, it’s about being the best that he can be. And right now he’s playing well.”

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

You can tell Gianni cares and has taken a liking to MJB. Says a lot.

Does Marjons attitude not remind you of a young Giannis? I can see why Giannis has taken a liking to him, kid seems timid but he has a big heart and perfect mindset

Meh - there are over twenty 5-Star prospects in every draft class before the international players are thrown in.

Love what I see from him so far. He just might be the missing piece, which seems too good to be true.

Yes. The plucky, never-say-die competitive fire. Long, rangy and sneaky quick. And perhaps most importantly it's evident that he cares a lot.

MarJon has the right attitude, we'll find out soon if he can actually play.

And of course since one of you tossed out Sam Cassell earlier in this thread, I can’t unsee that. MarJon really doesn’t look at all like Dad, but can’t find a photo of his Mom. Was she on the green room runway tonight? Dad however was a high school hooper.

Are you, sir, suggesting that MarJon Beauchamp's biological mother is... Sam Cassell?
