LaMelo Ball vs Tyrese Halibarton
I always thought the players were very similar, with LaMelo having significant higher ceiling.
But actually it seems to me Tyrese is a better finisher, a better shooter, just a good of a passer and a more complete and mature player.
Sure, he's a couple of years older, but shouldn't he be considered the better player now? And what improvements is anyone expecting from LaMelo to consider him a better prospect?

Pretty much. Kind of criminal how in the eyes of some fans he was automatically seen as inferior to LaMelo despite having at a minimum comparable numbers but with way more games.
Your play style and marketability make a huuuuge difference, even among more analytical crowds.

I'd rather have Haliburton, less drama, carries himself like a leader & a true professional and you're not going to have a toxic/immature locker room.

How was Haliburton better than Ball in 2022?

Same way he was better their rookie year. He's a more economical player.
Of course most people don't care about that. Tyrese is only now getting recognized as better because his points and assist are higher.

I thought we was a significanly better scorer and playmaker [mostly at operating as an offensive hub].

In 2022, Sacramento Kings were barely league average in Ortg with BOTH Fox and Haliburton on the floor together.
Kings were a -3 Ortg with Haliburton on the floor.
In 2022, Hornets were a +3 Offense with Lamelo Ball on the floor and a barely league average Offense without Lamelo Ball.
Haliburton is definitely the better scorer and more importantly the reason to take him over Ball is his physical durability.
As a playmaker Ball is a better playmaker and vastly superior high valued passer that provides more additive and expansive value towards a team's offense. His ceiling is noticeably higher than Haliburton's.

You are just posting random numbers without context.
LaMelo played a majority of his minutes with Offensive Oriented players in Miles Bridges and Terry Rozier. Extend it further and you get Miles Plumlee, P.J. Washington and then Gordon Hayward and Kelly Oubre. All these guys provide some sort of spacing minus Oubre [While Plumlee is a good playmaker/passer for a big].
Furthermore, Fox isn't has hasn't proven to be a player who you want next another Point Guard. This fact actually hinders [in theory] other point guards next to Fox [See Davion Mitchell and Haliburton now with his own "team"].
Beyond this, the gap in scoring arsenal and ability is monumental. Nobody in their right mind should be picking Ball over Haliburton at this point.

Re: LaMelo Ball vs Tyrese Halibarton
I think it's a pretty good comparison, but yeah, I go with Hali. I picked him up in fantasy last year and actually took an interest in watching him play. I was impressed with the stats AND the actual play. Mature game, good TOV economy, and very good shooter.
LaMelo's box stats from last season overrate him a bit, but he's good at important things like passing and winning the scrambles - basically when a team can change offense to defense or defense to offense and then capitalize. Very good rebounder. I think LaMelo's got the potential to be a real winner in the league.
If I had to go with one now on a playoff team, I'm definitely going with Haliburton. Just a more mature game. He doesn't mess up as much.

What's very weird for me is that it was obvious to me looking at him in college that he was good, all scouting reports where confirming that he was good, but somehow he slipped in the draft.
It reminds me what happened to Paul Pierce or Caron Butler.

Yeah and the obvious [Hindsight] spots for him were...
Phoenix: Brilliant fit. Takes the torch from CP3 seamlessly.
Pistons: LOL Killian Hayes
