Fox is going nuts, offensively, this year. I think this off-season was needed to create a rapport between Fox and Sabonis. Could be an interesting team.

I like Sochan. Thought he was the 2nd best defender in the class behind Eason.

His jumpshot was a project and he's been a trainwreck offensively, as expected.

Spurs making the mistake of playing him 20+ mpg as a defensive specialist at the NBA level right now. He should be playing 30+ in the G-League shooting 6 threes a game, developing his jumper.

Devin Vassell shot decently right away which is why it made sense to use him as a rookie. Sochan needs to be in the Gleague.

What type of defender? Man to man? High deflections guy?

I think Jacques Vaughn is brilliant for benching Simmons. Might be what he needs to get out of his head and focused on playing basketball so he can earn back his minutes. I’ll be interested to see how this experiment goes. If it pays off he’s gonna get called a genius.

Sabonis is the perfect roll guy.

Their team reminds me of what those Suns squad back then. Fun, a lot of chemistry on offense but that frontcourt is a double edged sword.

He takes away usage from your scorer. He’s just good for reg season basketball.

That is unless he becomes a 20+ppg scorer down the road.

We are sort of jaded by Simmons but Giddey is 20. He's a baby. His shot and game is still developing.

It's still early but his numbers have somewhat improved across the board compared to last year he isn't that far off from being a good NBA shooter and the rest of his skillset is pretty unique for a player his size. I wouldn't trade him at all especially considering where the OKC are developmentally.

Honestly Presti biggest mistake and his Achilles Heel has always been signing trash bench guys to good money. Like why sign Kenrich Williams? You have picks and a bunch of cap space can't you find an upgrade next year?

This is why they need to trade him “get out before everyone finds out”

You want your scorer to initiate the offense.

You want SGA to bring down the ball, be screened by a big where he either tries to score or pass.

Your chance of scoring goes down as you go to the end of the shot clock. And having a guy like Giddey wont help you with that, unless he develops into a scorer.

If im building a team, I’d rather bet on a guy like Maxey, Hyland or Cam Thomas than hope Giddey becomes a good scorer down the road.

If you have a 5 guy unit..

Giddey
SGA
Scorer
3&Defense
3&Defense

Wont you be a better team if you would just..

SGA
Scorer
3&Defense

Three chefs is too much in the kitchen with how easy is it to score nowadays

The Ben experiment with the Nets showed that IMO. Nets could just let KD and Kyrie bring down the ball, generate 4v5 situations and score in 8 seconds or less.

With Ben, Ben brings down the ball. Hunt for easy basket. 12-10 seconds remaining, pass it to Kyrie or KD for bailout basket.

Its not the 90s-2000 anymore that you need to be that surgical on offense

Both. He's a good athlete and 6'9"230 so he can man up.

At Baylor as a freshman, he was an elite deflections guy (2.9% steal, 3.2% block).

Last I checked, I don't think Fox is even really running the PnR much this year. In fact, I feel like this has been the most off ball he's been his entire career (according to the stats at least).

My point is Presti will probably have a top 5 pick this year he will be able to draft a scorer as well as cap space. I am not really sure who you would get for Giddey you wouldn't want to move him for a non-star because if he does develop further offensively you have an all-star and he still has plenty of time to develop into that player.

I personally think the best course with Giddey is to stay the course and figure out what you have unless some sort of superstar comes available. If you have been watching him lately he has done a better job cutting out the midrange and focusing more on getting to the rim.

After all the lottery picks. Jerami Grant is the second best player we’ve drafted since 2013? Better than Maxey?

I honestly haven't seen much of Jerami this year before the season I would rank them all pretty close.

Maybe Bridges as slightly ahead. Looking at Grants stats he seems to be on fire for the Blazers though regardless it's depressing so much wasted talent because we had to listen to Silver.

i dont disagree with the bolded statement

Can’t play Jerami Grant at that time with Ben right?
We need a floor spacer 4 with Embiid right?

Bassey and Reed are gonna be our Christian Wood and Grant.

Getting talented bigs shouldn’t be hard, except for us because we draft bigs who wants or needs to play with specific type of bigs.

This year with our pick, i’ve mentioned Kaloko and Kessler these two are again talented bigs that we can have in the draft. My point is, finding them are easy. But finding the right opportunity for then on this team is damn hard.

Could it be because of Doc?

I dont know man.. Doc wasn’t there when we had Grant or Woods.

This year some say we need an Al Horford type PF to play with Biid. Someone who’s basically what everyone envisions Tucker to be, but we drove Al out from this team.

Now we’re just on a constant supply of stretch 4s. Ilyasova, Tucker, Saric, Muscala, Niang and Tobi. You can’t play those bigs with Embiid on defense.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
