He’s filling the stat sheet, just needs to cut down on the TOs.

We have another NBA caliber PG down there in Dotson. Really good all around player. Davis/Dotson/Jackson/Carey are all NBA level.

Agree that these four (Schakel's not bad either) have looked good thus far. Creates quite a crunch at PG, however, given that we have Morris & Wright and Goodwin has looked solid...and the Zards appear to be grooming both Davis and Dotson to play the point.

Carey could turn out to be the biggest surprise among this group, especially if he's able to improve on D. His offensive skills appear to be legit...like his ability to knock down the 3 ball.

Yeah in a game where the Go Go scored 145 points - Davis scored 8 on only 6 shots- to put that in perspective- Isiah Todd shot 6 3 pointers in the same amount of time. Yes he made 2 out of his 3 pointers and was +27 (so was Isiah Todd), and didn't record a single turnover so that's something.

Schakel had 31 points on 15 shots. Devon Dotson had 18 points on 11 shots and recorded a triple double. Kris Dunn went 6 for 6 and now has a 77 TS%.

It’s actually pretty impressive that we basically have a farm system with nba caliber depth. Carey is pretty underrated I think, he would be just fine as a 3rd C in a pinch.

Davis has a solid environment to develop. Playing alongside good players and playing winning basketball. The Go-Go is one of the brightest spots in the organization.

This is why Tommy absolutely needs to sell off the non-long term pieces on the NBA roster like Kuzma/Rui/Barton/Morris and get whatever assets he can, because Dotson/Davis/Jackson/Carey all deserve an opportunity in the NBA.

I hope the next CBA stears more towards the G league being a more established farm system. Like I wish we had more of a claim over the players under contract with the go go. I hope the CBA increases the number of players on the teams and the number of 2 way contracts 17 and 3 two ways would be delightful.

Johnny D 4-8 from 3. After going 3-3 in an earlier game. His 3 ball shooting was supposed to be a weakness…maybe not.

19-6-3 per36 on 62% TS through almost 150 minutes. The G-league is totally different nowadays. Really good developmental league. This is a home run situation for Davis. His confidence is growing every single game and he’s developing in a situation surrounded by two-way guys fighting for their NBA lives.

Still think he turns out to be the best of Kispert/Avdija/Hachimura

If we make the playoffs, we will need Vern to bang on the low-block, he can be put to use later....

The Maine G-League games are well attended, dunno why the G-League provides the Maine highlights, dunno if they have a neutral play-caller.

I like our G-Squad.

Johnny Davis has always seemed to me to have G-League All-Star potential. One of the few who actually will play solid defense at that level. Hustle, scrap, outwork opponents, to earn trust and minutes from his coaches. At this level he might earn the veteran chops to eventually graduate to the bigs, even if his lesser athleticism keeps him a step behind the talent at the next level.

His 5th double double this year.

It's depressing looking at Todd and Davis' numbers in the G-League. My God.
