There is only one max contract on this team and its Butler. Herro and Bam both got less than max. I believe both got incentives that if they reach them all it will be close to max.Pharenheit wrote:3ammy3uck3ts wrote:Pharenheit wrote:
He’s getting paid the max. Why can’t he even do a fraction of what Giannis can do?
Why isn’t he better than one of the best players we’ve ever seen? Damn idk?
Giannis makes way more money than Bam btw.
The answer is that Bam is not a max guy on a championship team. I’d like to see him prove me wrong for the rest of the season and playoffs but I highly doubt it. We’re in year 6 of the Adebayo saga with nothing to show for besides a faux bubble run runner up trophy

There wasn't anyone on the floor to keep Butler accountable last night, this is one of things missing from having a vet like Tucker or Crowder (possibly UD also), someone on his team that he respects needed to snap him out of this sleep walking performance.

Definitely not annoying. Most of us generally welcome fans of other teams here. There are few that don't, but just don't engage them. We used to have several that frequented here including a Raptors fan.
As far as Lowry goes ... lets just say his best days were in Toronto. I can't really say that I'm surprised. I knew it was a risk due to his age and father time being undefeated, but that contract we gave him (along with the one we gave Duncan Robinson) is choking us. If we had a do over, there's no way I'd make that trade or give him that contract.

Meant best defender. You’re just greedy as fuxk. Best defender in the world giving you 20-10-4 and you want more![]()
You literally want this dude to be Giannis
He’s getting paid like Giannis why not Bammy? How much does he pay you to Stan him online?
Giannis is making $12 million more this season than Bam, and that gap only grows with each passing year, so no he's not making getting paid like Giannis. Jimmy is ... and no he's not performing like Giannis either. Due to there being a max, there are going to be a bunch players in the NBA making the max. It's unreasonable to expect them all to perform like Giannis or Steph.
This team has a bunch of problems. Bam isn't any of them.

Well in this case you trade Jimmy and Lowry, but no point on trading the young players such as Bam/Herro for lateral move to draft MORE young players.
Everyone’s going to get mad that I say it but I don’t see it for Bam as some soon to be superstar the way a lot of you do. Even if he makes the step to actually become a superstar, which is a stretch, I still don’t see him as a leader on a championship team. Same with Tyler, but that goes without saying since he’s dumped on every day on here.
I want a Ja morant, SGA, even a BF Zion if he can ever stay healthy type.
Agree, in my opinion a lot of us here are waiting on a Bam and Herro's jump to stardom which in my opinion will never happen, they will improve no doubt, but i dont think they are franchise's cornerstone material.

3ammy3uck3ts wrote:Shewasfly wrote:One thing I wonder why we keep ignoring is that part of the reason we play small is BECAUSE of Bam. It really illustrates and even somewhat overrates his strengths to play a gimmicky defense where bigs chase guards around the perimeter. That’s one of his most spoken about strengths, the ability to guard 1-5. But if we move away from that, which is what we all claim we want, what do we have?
Bam with the traditional 5 everyone wants around him is a completely clogged lane. That’s not a big deal if Bam is a natural scorer, but he’s not. Imagine Bam and Zo???? You’d need a Wade type to get penetration and we don’t have that.
Bam at the 5 and a stretch 4 and we’re still a small team. Are two 6’8-6’9 players the size ppl are really clamoring for in the front court?
This is why I’ve been screaming for Myles Turner for what 2 years now, because he’s the best of both worlds to cover Bams weaknesses and plug our gaping roster holes at the same time. I just dont know where all the trolling came from on this board where there can be no balance in our takes.
I think everyone is in agreement that we want a Myles turner type next to Bam. We don’t want a traditional big
Everyone isn't in agreement on anything including pizza for breakfast.
But yeah Turner would seem like a great fit next to Bam.

Still not the full max, just the max they were eligible for due to years in the NBA.

It's not like he's defending some scrub. I wish Bam was more assertive on offense too, but there's no denying that he's one of the better players in the NBA and has a huge impact on our team, especially on defense.
I think he is a good 3rd option on a team, would be an ideal second option if he could score with more consitensy. Definitely an exelent defender, but to call him a Franchise player is out of this world.

Maybe we can beat up on more team like the hornets and Suns minus CP3 while still missing the playoffs or getting knocked out the first round at best
Bam plays tonight and we win.
Lol at trying to discredit the suns win
They were missing key pieces, not discrediting just stating the facts. Could we beat them at full power? sure. But it would be exponentially harder to do.

I seen everything from bam in last years postseason to believe he’s fools gold. Can’t have max guys like that who can’t show up when it counts most. That’s what I appreciated about the ‘06 playoffs with a shopworn Shaq giving us contributions when it mattered and big 3 era Bosh being the guy to steady the ship anytime things got bad in the playoffs. Sorry but we don’t have that in Bam
Shaq **** the bed in the finals Wades just too damn good.
Bams also not old and a finished product, learn ball.
Shaq crap the bed? now i am convinced you are totally out of touch with reality. By his mere presence Wade could work his magic in the court and attack the defense at will, Shaq even in 2006 still commanded double teams, he was a force to be reckoned with even at the twilight of his career. Bam can only wish he could be 1/3 of the player Shaq was.

I am sorry to say this, but I am not surprised that Lowry has declined in regard to his play since joining the Heat. Small guards never seem to age well, and Lowry has played hard game in game out while with the Raptors. The Duncan Robinson situation is puzzling. I know it would be difficult to trade him considering his current play, but outside looking in it seems like his confidence is shot and it probably does not help his confidence level that Max Strus has taken his role on the team. The money would be difficult but if the Heat could turn Robinson into Jae Crowder in a three-team deal that would be a nice upgrade and balance the roster better.

I don't know. Is Draymond Green a franchise player? For certain he wouldn't be anywhere else, but he's been critical to the Warriors' success. Bam is one of our cornerstones and not someone who would be easily replaced. But he's more of an Alonzo Mourning than a Dwyane Wade ... just not quite Alonzo Mourning.

If we could turn Robinson into a pumpkin at least we could have pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving. We'll take anything at this point. I think the weight of his contract just got to him. Small contracts come with little expectations, larger contracts come with more expectations. And I get the feeling that he's the type to listen to fans chatter, so he knew a bunch of us didn't think he was worth that money. If you let that mess with your head, it will mess with your head.
