Re: Quick stat snapshot of where the Sixers are after 3 games
Look love Maxey always will but if the KD rumours are true (He’s a mercenary anyway and the Nets are even more of a clown show than us) it isn’t correct in fact far from it to not move heaven and earth for him.
At the the end of the day it’s friggin KD. This could be Morey’s saving grace from the D grade level off season.
Nets blow it up and tank for Victor? Who knows but as it stands we aren’t championship quality.

This guy seems to think Embiid has been limited by Harden at the start and the reason why we lost the early games. Apparently thinks Embiid should be given all the touches and a roster that supports that.
Seems like that writer has a pretty clear anti-Harden agenda they’re trying to push. We sucked early on because Embiid was out of shape and the team refused to give any effort on defense.
Sounded that way. His premise is giving Embiid the ball early in the clock. Harden does not do that. He reads the defense and sets up plays. I agree in the past he would hold the ball too long which limits the actual play but he has gotten better there. One of the hardest things to stomach is our depth pieces are not as good as hoped, at least at this point, and the inclination is to resort to an iso approach with our best player logging huge minutes again. Hearing Embiids response post game he echoed what Doc has been trying to focus on, getting everyone involved. I think down the line the team will figure this out. You can’t come to a conclusion like this writer did with so many new parts hitting the floor for the first time.

He could have chosen his destination at this point. Embiid and Harden would have recruited him I guarantee.
Injury risk, thats why he has to sign a long term contract.
Honestly, the mistake was with the Nets. They should have never done the Harden trade.
They would have so much depth right now that they’d have a large margin for error. Dinwiddie, LeVert, Allen and those picks could allow Kyrie and KD to go vacation at the middle of the season and return when playoffs start.
Agreed, i sayed this at the time of the trade.
Rim protection has been a huge issue after that trade, and they had an elite one in Allen.
Also, they could had awesome depth with Levert as a 6th man scoring machine, while trading Dinwiddie and some picks for an elite 3+D wing.
That being sayed, i didn't expect Kyrie to be so disfunctional. You can't have him as your #2 if you want to win. But that's another story.
They could have been THE team we want to be now.
Two superstars then enough role players for load management.
If Kyrie gets dysfunctional, send him to Tibet while KD can try to win with LeVert, Dinwiddie and the crew then Kyrie returns by G6-G7 of the NBA finals then goes back to Tibet again after winning the chip.
I think Nets got too greedy. I call it the “tower of babel” syndrome.

yeah, its hard to make conclusions for now.
Personally, I think it’s both Embiid was not in shape to start the season and there is also some “dissatisfaction” from Embiid with how the team is run.
What’s hard to stomach is I thought we are over from these issues already.

Still concerned that Doc has no immediate intentions of reducing Tucker's role. His productivity is just too minimal to justify starters minutes. Can't drag this out if we're trying to win.

Montrez makes a impact everytime he plays in limited mins. I think he lightins Embiids work load and should also play some PF to provide size and rebounding next to him. Paul Reed is not it.. I think he's not good and should never play over Harrell.
Tuck is a underated player right now he makes huge plays for us with his boxing out ability and hustle plays.
We need to wait and see on a Eric Gordon Buyout that would be huge for us...
This team needs another Wing vet with Athleticism.

yeah a buyout of Gordon would be great. Have you seen him lately? Guy is like a bowling ball, plays his role, still shooting solid from 3.

Something about Bradley Beal with Embiid seems right .... I would try to move Maxey , Tobias, 2019 1st for Beal. He just seems like a good fit with Embiid and Harden and a team upgrade.

I actually like Harrell (and Reed). He just needs to be structured in a way that we dont expose his flaws on defense (surround him with good defenders) and would allow him to step out and use his mobility and quickness on defense.
I do think we’ve reached a point where Harrell is undderrated and Reed is overrated.

Probably true but I think there are 2 reasons for that. The first is that we know what Harrell is while Reed should have leaps and bounds more room for growth. and 2, does a team with Joel, Maxey, Harden and Harris really need another short minute scorer, or do they need a guy who's going to provide some change of pace defensive energy?

Re: Quick stat snapshot of where the Sixers are after 3 games
All the Reed vs Harrell talk could end if Doc just did the obvious thing and played Reed 10-15 mpg at the 4 (thus reducing Tucker's minutes) while continuing to use Harrell as Embiid's primary backup.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:
Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Watford/Barlow/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

Re: Quick stat snapshot of where the Sixers are after 3 games
I don’t know. Iam starting to think this is a coaching issue more than just a collection of bad role players around Embiid. I mean why is it the players suddenly are washed or not playable when they join the system. Why is Tucker getting one corner shot a game when he averages 45 percent. Wouldn’t a coach try to spread the floor with that kind of shooter and make the other team adjust? Wouldn’t that make the paint an easier place to score? With the gravity of Embiid there’s no reason we have a corner shooter never seeing the ball. We also suck at rebounding, like actually the worst team, and now Bassey is grabbing 14 a game and we still lack a backup big. I mean we have an open roster spot? The goal was to reduce Embiids regular game minutes and use a bench. If you want to blame Morey it’s more likely not the players he got but the fact we still have the same coach that still doesn’t know how to use the hidden talent on the bench. These guys just don’t know where they fit and are being put in lineups that don’t maximize them. Tobias shouldn’t be playing with Tucker for example.

At this point, I assume the penny pinching and the open roster spot are ticketed for Gordon.

Jesus God, you want both of them in the rotation?
Have people actually been watching Reed the last few games? He's been a trainwreck.
I'd still rather have him out there than Harrell since he's more likely to be helpful in a playoff series and needs the reps.

So funny how that's always the thing. People see Reed play...see Reed hurt the team....see he has a long way to go.... Then say it's not his fault.... He needs to play more.
Never fails. Just an observation of sixer fans.
