Mark Eaton drafted 1992 not 1982- How does Utah perform

Post#1 » by migya » Sat Nov 19, 2022 8:36 am

With Mark Eaton drafted ten years later, in 92 instead of 82, how does the Utah Jazz perform for the rest of Stockton's career (until 2003)?

Do they win any championships? Do they beat those Bulls?

Utah made it to the wcf in 92, 94, 96 and finals in 97 and 98. Could they have been the dynasty of the 90s?

The Dantley Jazz who missed the playoffs his first four seasons and never won more than 45 games? It's not like it would rob them of titles or even conference finals appearances xD

It makes them less entertaining to watch though...

Much more entertaining than the Malone/Stockton era imo

Give Stockton and Malone Dantley instead; look at how good the Utah offenses were when they had a legit 3rd star in Hornacek. Eaton's role can be played by the Greg Ostertags of the world, even if you give up the great shotblocking you get better movement and pick setting.

Doesn't address the question asked but at least you didn't steer the thread completely clear like it was.

Dantley would be a good fit on the 90s Jazz but Eaton would give them that extra defense and reliability they didn't really have with Ostertag in the mid to late 90s.
