Utah has a lot of size and length on their team. Portland coming after the Brooklyn game
and if they lose to the Jazz, is going to see nothing but big front courts until they show
they can adjust.

Interesting Simons seems to have periods in each game where he just can't miss. Definition
of a streak shooter.

Billups really should've used his challenge on that last Nurkic foul. Haven't been impressed with his 4th qtr coaching since that Dallas game.

Despite making it close, this was a bad loss. Poor job defending the perimeter, more careless turnovers, squandered the chance to lead big early with all the bricked jumpers. Tough schedule coming up, and probably no Dame on this trip. Ruh roh.

Turnovers... So many turnovers... On top of that the refs definitely shaved a few points off too with some horrendous calls.

Terrible energy until Dame went out for some reason. Just unexcusable effort playing a team on the second night of b2b at home.

I cancelled a date tonight to watch this.

Ouch. You can play fantastic defense in the half-court (not that Portland did that, either, outside of their two rallies) and be totally undermined by points off turnovers.

Also, it's not Utah's fault, but no matter what they do or whom they acquire, I hate their team. So that doesn't make this loss any better.

I think Dame and Ant set the tone for the game by chucking 3s. They started off great moving the ball, lots of assists the first few minutes, then they started chucking 3 after 3 and kind of sucked the energy out of the rest of the team and it stayed like that until Dame sat. If Dame isn't hitting then he needs to be more of a play maker rather than force it. Billups needs to step in and reign him in a little when he does that. Speaking of coaching, why did they let Clarkson switch onto Eubanks when obviously he can't guard him on the perimeter. Coaching has been terrible in these late, close games. Just bad decisions over and over.

Good observation. The first eight field goals were assisted.

Usually we see Dame drive nearly as often as he hoists from three. Could be related to the calf issue.
