So 11 points from House and Tucker in 73 minutes lol. Now House had all of them but still 11 points in 39 minutes is awful. Tucker has not been good. Its early but its looking like a mistake signing him.

Offensively, his job is to stand in the corner and hit 3pt shots. He isn't taking many - is that because he's passing them up or people aren't finding him? He's still hitting 44% of them. Maybe they just need to look for him more. That's all we need from him on offense... being gravity and hitting shots.
That said, we need more rebounds from the 4 spot. And he's 37... Doc can't keep playing him these minutes and expect him to peak in the playoffs.

Tucker needs to slide to 3 and we need a more imposing 4 than Tobias via trade.

What are you talking about? Basketball is not just points. Obviously you watch nothing but the score sheet. smh

Such a shame we didn't manage to pull off the comeback. Wolves are atrocious. Even with that roster, the team has not identity.
But it was very difficult on 2nd night of a back to back without 3 starters. If we just had Maxey, it would've been an easy win.

Tucker is basically what he's been the last number of years. I think he's been fine, just doesn't really fit, as Tobias is just better. I think Philly just has better options... And needs elsewhere... But I've actually been impressed by his ability to defend 1-5. I also think (with Harden) him at small ball 5 can work with other defenders on perimeter. Thybulle, Melton, Harris with Harden... You can switch everything for the Harden/Harris bench.
I think Melton can really help with the rebounding. I mean including him makes your only piss poor reminder Maxey... Where Joel, Harden and Melton are strong at their position and Harris can hold his own. Plus more shooting, playmaking, speed and bounce
Or Thybulle because he clearly makes your defense much better

Re: Game 16: Timberwolves vs. Sixers aka Walking Wounded 7:30 pm ET Game Thread
Where's this long list of major contributors that signed for the MLE or less this summer?
PJ signed to be an ultra low usage defender/hustle/spacer next to our stars.
Harping on him not scoring feels dumb.
He's a quality playoff rotation piece. When you can get that for the MLE, you take it.

Yeah there is "not scoring" and then there is scoring 0pts, I think the difference is huge.

My opinion:
I think fans, front offices, and players overvalue the intangible aspects Tucker brings to the equation and don't properly criticize him for how poor his tangible contributions are.
The facts are that he's been an awful rebounder, an unproductive defensive deflector, and his scoring and playmaking are also a zero.
The ONLY positive tangible quality he brings to the table is good shooting. And even THAT is mitigated by low volume.

Re: Game 16: Timberwolves vs. Sixers aka Walking Wounded 7:30 pm ET Game Thread
Tucker is getting overplayed. He’s playing on back to backs high minutes and he’s dealing with a leg or foot issue. I watched him last year and he plays through these things but not at the minute load we are seeing here. Iam sure Embiid wants him out there. He funnels and slows drives to the rim for Embiid making him effective. It’s one of the reasons we are staying in the games. If you ask the players they would “overvalue” him too. House is also an underrated wing defender. Iam not a fan of the cost for Tucker but that is what it took to get him. Shoes nowadays are damn expensive!

I also think because hes a tweener and were dealing with multiple tweener you have to do a bit of puzzle piecing. He played well next to Giannis and Bam because they make up for what he lacks in length and athleticism. We have him next to guys with similar flaws. Say we had Jerami Grant instead of Tobias his added length and athleticism would fit in nice between Tucker and Embiid on both ends of the floor.

its unfair to look for points from Tucker, that is not what he’s here for.
We’re just getting carried away from all these casuals who wants to get clicks or likes from attention seeking stats

EXACTLY!
Another thing is Tucker is special because of his ability to defend 1 to 5.
Rather putting him where we expect him to..
- score
- rebound
- help Embiid in rim protection
That isn’t Tucker.
You want to max out Tucker? Let him be primary defender of 1 or 2 (Harden, Trae) or 5 (Rox), then let him deny the two man game by switching.

Zero points... on one shot.
He's not capable of doing more than what he was brought here to do offensively. He's a low volume spacer that needs looks created for him. He doesn't have the skillset to up his usage when players are out.
I'm not even arguing he's playing well, but to hear the same crap every game when career 7 ppg guy isn't scoring completely misses why he was brought here.

A 4vs5 offense doesn't work I'm sorry, we had a much better "4vs5" player in Ben Simmons and that won't cut it, especially in playoffs.

I think he's too slow to defend most guards, and doesn't have the the length to make up for it like how RoCo used to do it.

Tucker was expected to be able to at least hit open threes here at a respectable clip. It hasn't happened. He definitely benefits with a facilitator like Harden on the floor and now he's reduced to playing a role similar to Paul Reed. I don't think anyone here expected Tucker to suddenly be able to create offense for himself, but my God! He can't even make open threes which has been his bread and butter for staying in the league. I like his defense, he's battling on that end, if he can start hitting open threes again he'll be worth the signing. Right now without Harden and Maxey, it's hard to really place any expectations on Tucker other than him playing tough defense on whoever he's guarding. I don't think him playing center is a good idea at all. We have Embiid, Trez, and Reed who can all man that position. One of them should be on the floor at all times.

The scheduling is just stupid sometimes. Back to back, 4 days off, another back to back? Why?
Anyway, the "no reason to watch these games" is only amplified right now with the injuries.

He's shooting 44% from 3...
I think him at center works really well with the Harden switch everything groups. They probably go to it a bit too much though.
